Chapter 26
The death of Cu Culainn.
Abbie looked at his body collapsed on the horse and thought the worst.
In her heart knew it was over.
If he was not dead already the army will finish him off.
Cu Culainn woke and tried to move. But he screamed in pain. His body had Nothing left.
He was ready to give into that pain.
Then he saw something which gave him a reason to move.
Using his mouth and the only good hand he had that worked. He untired the rains of the dead horses head.
He slowly rolled up the rope rains and slung it over his shoulder.
Again taking his spear.
Fighting the pain.
He dragged his broken body through the dirt.
He reached a lone standing stone adorned with Celtic symbols.
Abbie recognised that stone.
It was the one in the picture on the wall.
She remembered Cu Culainn was tied to it with a spear through his heart.
Miss Finn called it "'The death of Cu Culainn."
He leaned his back up against the stone and breathed a sigh of relief.
He felt himself black out again and he punched his bad hand against the stone.
The pain made him scream back to life.
He got to work.
Taking the rains off he threw it around the stone. wrapping the rest of the rains around himself and using the spear he crawled painfully up.
Until he was standing up against the stone using his spear as a crutch.
He tied himself tightly using his teeth and good hand to the stone.
1. Then he sighed and waited for the final attack.
With the helmet on and tied to the stone Abbie could not tell if Cu Culainn was still awake, blacked out or dead.
She wondered if it would fool his enemies as well.
"I really am an artist!" Boasted Catbad looking at cu Culainn tied to the stone in the mirror.
"That image will be famous for thousands of years to come."
He pondered like an artist looking at one of his paintings.
"But its missing something . A spear through the heart and-".
Abbie was startled by two ravens who flew through the window and landed on the table beside her.
She recognised the two black spectres.
They moved closer to her.
"Go on! Shoe! Clear off!"
She yelled at the beady eyed ravens.
"Before I-"
She stopped and realised she was still paralysed.
She could not move her arms or body.
She could do nothing to those birds of death and worse. She knew, they knew it.
Fear gripped her as the ravens hopped and climbed up her paralized body getting closer to her eyes.
"You can peck her after." Said Catbad picking up the two ravens in his giant hands.
