"We should go look for him." Sue announced as she jumped up. "He's been gone over an hour."
"I'm sure Johnny's fine." Nyx sighed.
This had been going on for a while, Sue would ask to go looking for her brother then one of them would reassure her that he was fine. This time though would be the last time they would have to ask because Johnny half fell and half flew onto the balcony outside before the flames disappeared. He was covered in sand and looked really tired; Reed jumped up and opened the balcony door so Johnny could walk in.
"Johnny, are you okay?" Nyx asked as he collapsed on the couch beside her.
"I- I'm not sure."
"Did you find anything out?"
"Well this thing... it looked like a silver human riding a surf board."
"A silver surfer..." Reed murmured. "Continue."
"Well after I followed him out of the tunnel we flew miles into the wilderness before he stopped and grabbed my neck." Johnny paused to gather his thoughts. "Then he flew up into space and said something like 'your herald summons you; another world awaits. Let it be done quickly.' After that I passed out and he dropped me, I woke up and managed to flame on before crashing in the desert, more specifically some nomads' tent and got camel drool on me. After that I came here."
"Interesting." Reed replied once Johnny was finished.
"So do you feel okay?" Sue pressed.
"Just tired." He sighed.
Ben smirked and saw his chance to get back at Johnny. "Well if you ask me it sounds like you followed shiny man to Lollipop Land or Rainbow Junction."
"I know what I saw Boulder Brains."
"Johnny, just ignore him." Nyx soothed. "Is there anything else you can think of that's important to know?"
"Oh yeah. He could turn matter into energy... learned that the hard way."
"So it's the thing causing the anomalies?" Reed pondered. "And obviously it doesn't want to be bothered by us because it destroyed the sensor."
"Wait how did it know it was being monitored?" Sue asked.
"This Silver Surfer is obviously highly resourceful."
Johnny groaned again as he stood up and Nyx gave him a concerned look. When he noticed he grinned. "Just going to walk this off."
They all watched him go before turning back to their conversation. Reed was still listing off facts and trying to figure out what their next move would be when Nyx thought back to General Hagar and what he'd wanted them to do.
"We need to team up the Hagar and his men."
Reed's head snapped towards her direction and he narrowed his eyes. "We don't need his help."
"But they need ours, besides they have a lot of fancy gadgets you could use."
"She does have a point." Ben spoke up. "Our goals are the same. Find this shiny guy and stop him."
"What do you think Sue?" Nyx asked.
"If it gets this over with faster so I can get married." She nodded.
"Fine. I'll call General Hagar tonight and we'll figure out when to meet." Reed gave in and left to go to his lab.
"This won't turn out well I can feel it." Ben grumbled.
"Why do you say that? I thought you agreed with me." Nyx cocked her head at him.
"I do its just Reed and Hagar don't exactly get along. It's basically nerd versus tough jock."
"Reed doesn't seem to make a lot of friends." Nyx replied dryly as she thought of Victor. Of course look at the choice I made... but was he that bad? She shook her head; of course Doom had been bad. He tried killing them. "Look I think I'll just go relax while I still can. Maybe make sure Johnny's feeling better and my brother doesn't 'forget' to call Hagar."
"Good idea. I think I'll invite Alicia over to watch a game with me." Ben agreed.
"Uh, right. Because that's interesting and she can see." Sue replied sarcastically.
"She could spend time with you. You two always find something to talk about."
Nyx left the room before she could hear anymore of their conversation, she found Johnny sleeping in his room and Reed was already on the phone, sighing in relief that she didn't have anything to do, she went to the roof and stretched her wings. It was time to go to the one place she equally loved and hated, the place she liked to go when she needed to escape reality and remember the past when things seemed better; when things were a lie. She jumped off and thrust her wings back to send her towards Victor's place no one would look for her there; besides she did get to destroy his things though it wasn't like he was there to use it.
