Mia's pov

It's been three days since the fiasco with my parents. I was getting to know them more. I've been regaining my memory little by little. Most of them are clear while others are blurry. But one thing I'm a hundred percent certain about is that this is my family. No substitute. They are the ones who truly love and care for me. My life with the Lee's have become an unpleasant memory.
"Hey kiddo!" A voice broke me away from my thoughts and I turned to see my dad strolling towards me. I put down the book I was supposed to be reading and turned to him giving him my full attention. He took a seat beside me.
"I was thinking we move to somewhere else. Damian told me you didn't have a pleasant childhood here. What do you say we leave here and start afresh in somewhere new?"
Is he really asking for my opinion? Sweet! Davis and Helen never ask me about anything. In fact they never talk to me except it's to insult me or give me orders. I wasn't important to them but now I'm important to the people that matters. I could get used to it.
I thought about the idea. It doesn't sound bad. I need to start afresh. Away from Helen's abyssal, Aiden and Karen's betrayal. Besides it works well with my plan for revenge. I nodded enthusiastic at the prospect of going someplace new. I've never been out of the province before. My dad chuckled. He was about to leave when something occurred to me.
"What about school?" I asked him. He turned around and asked confused
"What about it?"
I rolled my eyes and clarified
"I mean what about school? We only have a week before exams. I might as well finish this session here so I don't repeat" He mulled over the idea before he replied.
"Alright, I see your point. I'll arrange it with Damian. You'll go back to school on Monday. That gives you three days to prepare for exams. Think you can do it?"
I nodded, confident. School has never been a problem for me. I was considered a nerd just for being smart. Besides my time in school will give me the opportunity to get Aiden to sign the waiver. All I got to do is trick him the way he tricked me that he loved me. An eye for an eye.

Helen's pov

I glanced through this week report of weapons. It seems our profit has increased. My methods might be considered gruesome but they were effective. When Davis was in charge, he refused to try my methods saying they were ruthless. Yeah right. I think it's because he was and will always be a coward. No wonder he remained on the same level in the organization all this while. A knock broke me away from my thoughts and I called out.
"Come in"
The door opened and I looked up to see my tracker entering my office.
"I got some info about Davis" he said, sounding nervous. Good, he should be. He should fear me because I'm not someone to be messed with. Davis ruled a friendly way, I ruled a fearless way. I put down the pen I was using and gave him my attention.
"We found him" He stated. I arched a brow, not understanding what he meant.
"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice cold and face blank.
"We found Davis. He is in Australia"
He replied. My breath knocked out of me. Shit, that was fast. I wasn't expecting it to be so soon. Since he's in Australia, we can't have him brought here to Canada. He has to be dealt with over there. It broke my heart to do this but it has to be done. Davis is a liability and must be brought down. I took a deep breath and asked.
"Who's available for the job?"
"Felix and Donald" Tracker replied. No, not Donald. He's new in this business and might chicken out.
"Send Felix to do it" I ordered. Tracker nodded and turned to the door.
"Tracker!" I called out. He turned around to look at me and I said
"Tell Felix to make it as quick and less painful as possible. Also tell him that if he fails, his family will pay the price"
I added that last part knowing Felix had a little sister and a mother he loved sincerely. Hell do anything to protect them even going against his former boss.

Davis's pov

Immediately Damian gave me the least expected check, I left the country to Australia. I practically betrayed Helen and I know she won't let that go. Her vindictive nature will make her come after me despite all we shared. There was a time Helen and I were inseparable. But that time is long gone, thanks to greed and hatred. My sources tells me she has taken over the whole business. Good for her. Her greed won't let her do anything decent anyway. I just pity my darling karen. Under the influence of her mother, she'll grow up to what she hates. I could already see the signs before I left. Too bad. Anyway back to the present.
I looked around the one room apartment I had immediately paid for the day I landed in Australia. Though it is pretty shabby compared to my house in Canada, it's home to me. A beginning of a new life. Away from hatred, pain, heartbreak and greed.
Time to look for a job. I picked up my fake documents - identity card, drivers license etc and shoved the envelope in my pocket. I stood up and headed for the door. I locked the door behind me. The dingly hallway was dimly lit. I walked on the sidewalk, not exactly with a destination in mind. I felt as if someone was following me. I looked back but didn't see anyone. I saw the sign of help wanted under the signboard of a restaurant across the street. I was about to cross the street when I sighted a familiar face. Gotcha. He was smoking a cigarette and was wearing a hat. His eyes covered with sunglasses. He was looking everywhere but not making eye contact with me. I studied his face carefully, trying to appear as if I didn't see him. I recognized him as Felix, a young fella who was extremely loyal to me when I was still in canada. He is a good kid. Seems Helen sent him to do her dirty work. After all, what are the odds that I find one of my boys in Australia, on the same street and a few meters away from me. Not likely. Helen probably sent him to bring me in or to kill me. The thought didn't sit well with me. Felix's mother was my ex girlfriend in school. That's why I brought him into the business and took him under my wing. Though Helen doesn't know that or she'd have had her killed. I think I can talk my way out of this. I decided to approach him carefully. I carefully maneuvered myself so I was going the opposite direction when he wasn't looking. It was pretty easy for me. After all I've been doing this way before he was born. His back was to me and I could see him frantically looking around wondering where I was. I crept silently and stood beside him. I cleared my throat loudly and he turned to me. He seemed shocked to see me standing beside me.
"Calm down Felix, I'm not here to hurt you" I assured him. Panic was clear in his eyes and I could see he knew that I'm aware of what he was sent to do.
"She sent you, didn't she?" I asked, though I already knew the answer. I just wanted to hear it directly from him. Felix removed his glasses and looked at me. I could see he was hesitant to answer me, probably wondering if he can trust me. A few minutes later, he nodded. My heart broke at his reply. Though I had known what his mission was, it still hurt to hear the confirmation that someone who you once loved and planned to spend the rest of your life with could order your death. I turned to see Felix watching me with sad eyes. I smiled at him and patted his shoulder.
"Chill out son. I knew about it already. Let's go to my house to talk. I know you don't want to kill me. If you wanted to, you would have done it already. No matter who gives the order, you are still loyal to me"
Felix smiled at me sadly and replied
"I wish that were the case. But Helen has promised that if I fail to kill you, she'll kill my family." He brought out a gun and pointed it to my abdomen. The gun was rigged with a silencer at the nozzle. His coat was covering it so no one knew what was happening.
I gaped at him shocked. How can Helen go to such great lengths as threatening his family just to see me dead? It sounds impossible but I know it isn't. This is Helen we are talking about. Anything is possible for her. I thought about a way out.
"How about I get your family out of Canada into a safe location?" I offered. Felix lowered the gun slightly. His brow set in confusion.
"We both know that after you kill me, she'll kill you too to erase evidence. Work with me and I'll see to it that you and your family are protected"
I pressed, desperate to get him to spare my life. Felix looked as if in deep thought. He looked up at me with tears in his eyes.
"You'll do that for me? After I tried to kill you?" he asked, voice trembling. I nodded at him and replied
"Of course. I don't know if she's told you but your mum and I go way back. She wouldn't want you to do this"
At the mention of his mum, Felix relaxed. He holstered the gun inside his coat and turned to me.
"Let's go"
