Karen's pov

I stand at the balcony of the guest room, leaning on my crutches. The balcony overlooks a very beautiful garden - Mary's pride. My leg is still in a cast so I can't walk with it yet. Mia has been taking wonderful care of me, even if she's a bit overbearing, I adore her. I eat anytime I want, do anything I want. But I can't help but worry. Since I left the hospital, I haven't seen Felix. He told me he had some things to clear up and he'll be back soon. With my father probably dead and my mum going crazy, I only have Mia and Felix left. Though I still have lots of unanswered questions, I'm grateful to have people who love and care about me. I've known Felix for a short period of time and during that time, I've grown to love him like the brother he is. So I can't help but worry if I don't know where he is or how safe he is.
The shadow of movement between the amaranth caught my attention. The figure crawled quickly to the side of the wall. Though his face was covered with a ball cap, I recognized the figure immediately. Felix!. He must be here for me like he promised. I turned around and walked quickly into the room and out to the hallway. Well I walked as fast as I could with crutches. It was frustrating climbing down the stairs with crutches, trying not to face plant on the floor.
By the time I made it down, I was sweaty and panting. I paused for a minute to get my breath back. Just then, the back door opened and Felix strolled in. A smile covered my face instantly and I opened my mouth to call out to him. The sound however died before I could release it. That's because my mouth was now hanging open as I watched Felix go straight to the study. He knocked on the door while looking side by side if anyone was watching. I frowned when the door was opened and Damian welcomed Felix. Damian looked around before ushering Felix into the study. What are those two up to? I wondered. I didn't realize they were so close. Besides what's with all the secrecy? With these thoughts in my mind, I turned around carefully and headed back to my room.

Felix's pov

I enter the study to see a gorgeous man sitting on a chair. Damn he's hot! He's staring at me while I'm staring right back. It's this kind of men that makes me appreciate the fact that I'm gay. I lick my lips unconsciously and he turned away with a frown. Damn it, he's straight. Why is it all the gorgeous men I'm attracted to are straight? Is it a curse? Back to the issue at hand. I turned unwillingly to Damian who is sitting on a chair.
"You called?" I asked, going straight to the point. I didn't want to say more than necessary with a stranger here. Damian cleared his throat and replied
"Yeah I did. Felix, I'd like you to meet Carlisle Ashton. Carlisle, Felix."
Carlisle stretched his hand out and I shook it. His grip was firm and reeked of power. I was expecting to feel some sort of electricity. You know, the sudden feeling of true love, blah blah and blah. But nothing. Hmm, I guess that ship has sailed. He's not the one for me. Too bad. I let go of his hand and turned to Damian.
"Carlisle is the second in command to the Canadian organization." Damian explained. I arched a brow at him, not impressed. At least that explains the intimidating look and powerful vibe.
"Alright, so why did you wanna see me?" I asked, my voice sounded curt. This time around, Carlisle spoke. His voice was strong and husky.
"Helen wants me" Carlisle stated. Cocky much? I asked inwardly. I sent him an unimpressed look in reply. Damian spoke up.
"My Intel reveals Helen is after Pablo Smith" How the hell is that my business? And who the hell is that? I frowned, confused.
"Who is Pablo Smith?" I voiced out my thoughts. Damian let out a sigh
"Pablo smith is the leader of the Canadian organization. Helen wants the leadership of Canadian organization. In order to do that, she has to go through Pablo"He explained. I still wore a frown on my face, not understanding where this is going.
"Okay. So what's seems to be the problem? It's the mafia world. People overthrow each other every time." I stated nonchalantly. As much as it sucked, it was the truth. You had to be extremely smart and strong to hold down a position in the mafia world.
Carlisle glared at me at the way I spoke but I ignored him.
"The issue here is Helen doesn't know anything about Pablo. I personally don't even know how he looks like. Since she doesn't know anything about him to get to him, she has decided to go through Carlisle here who is his second in command. That's why she wants him" Damian explained. I nodded, understanding the logic. It's a good plan. I won't deny it. To get to the hair, you have to go through the head.
"Alright I get it. Now how does that help me in any way?" I asked. Carlisle smiled for the first time. Not a good smile, nope, a sinister smile designed to send chills to your spine. Damian also looked smug. Is there something I'm missing here?
"Well use Carlisle here to get to Helen and take her down"
Damian declared. Soon I was smiling with the rest of them. Helen it's payback time.

Mia's pov

I barged into the villa breathing heavily. The door banged shut behind me but I ignored it. I dumped my bag on the couch and began pacing. Damn it! I was pissed. Let me explain what's going on. I just got back from the court house. Today is Aiden's trial. I dolled myself up specifically for this occasion. I wanted to look hot while I watched Aiden being sent to prison. But it didn't work out. The idiot had his lawyer claim he had mental issues. The judge being a total idiot had taken pity on him and sentenced him to two years community service with a year in a registered mental institution. What the hell? As if he knew I was watching, Aiden had turned back to look me in the eye and smiled smugly. It took everything in me not to walk up to him and throttle him. I wanted to slap that smile right off his face. My lawyer had presented all the evidence to counter the Judge's decision but nothing worked. The moron refused to change his mind.
It seems the law is useless when dealing with possessive and crazy ex's. It's time to do this the old fashioned way. I'll destroy Aiden myself and enjoy every moment of it. Thank God I still have the waiver tucked safely in Damian's safe. It'll serve me well in my plans.

Helen's pov

I crawled quietly from bed after a marathon sex session with my partner. She was sleeping soundly, righteously exhausted. I picked up my pants from where I had tossed it last night. I dressed quickly and quietly, trying not to wake her. I wasn't in the mood for her questions today. I picked up my cell phone and car keys. I slipped quietly out the door. I was about entering my car when my phone beeped alerting me to a new text message. I paused to read the message and a smile spread on my face. I entered my car with renewed confidence and purpose. I'm coming for you Carlisle. It's time you have a new boss.
