"Damn it, Paul. Stop fucking moving!" Nora hissed as she glared at the fidgety boy in front of her.
"Come on, Noraaaa! I have been still for hours!" He whined and then shrieked when a paint brush was thrown at his head.
"You wanted this done! So stop with the moving!" The girl snarled at him.
"God, you're so fucking scary. Poor Quill." Paul mumbled under his breath.
"Say that again and I will remind you how hard I hit." Nora growled and went back to painting when Paul hurried back into his prior position.
Paul thought of the girl before him as he stared her down. Her hair was dyed neon green and frizzy, but short. Shaved down on the sides and poofy on the top. Her skin was littered with scars from all kinds of adventures she has endured. The cut under her eye from falling out of a tree. The burn on her leg from a hot exhaust pipe at the shop. The skid marks on her arm from crashing one of Jake's bikes. The girl before him was his best friend, his adoptive sister, and now because of an imprint... His pack mate.
As Nora painted Paul's portrait she bit her lip hard to avoid thinking of her problems. Painting was an escape. And when Paul asked for a portrait (vain little shit he is) she was more than glad for a new muse. But her mind was running in a different direction. The fight with Quill the night before.
It was a rather large shock for the pack when Quill imprinted not only on Nora... But little Claire. Nora was enraged. She had only just come to terms with this soul mate thing when apparently the damned universe had other fucking plans. Her other half. Her mate. Imprinted on a fucking toddler. And now his doggy ass was so invested in his new imprint that he had forgotten the first one. The one he had made love to the night he imprinted on Claire. The pack had no idea how to process this. Old Man Quill and Billy were both digging deep through the tribe history to find answers. Sam was panicked and losing focus on the thought that he could have a second imprint.
Yet, Nora was largely forgotten by most of the pack. Only Paul and Emily had checked in on her in the past three weeks. Everyone else was in their own troublesome world. And when the BBQ was raging on last night... Nora was raging on Quill. Quill was so busy paying attention to Claire that he didn't even know Nora had arrived. Nora snapped and slapped him so hard it broke her left hand. So to get back at the wolf she went to good old Doctor Vampy. She didn't have a problem with the Cullens, besides the anxiety filled tampon drinker and the preppy pixie. Nora liked Emmett, much to Paul's dismay, and Rose had a bite to her attitude that fit with her own.
"Nora." The new voice shook her from her thoughts as she turned to see Old Man Quill standing in her studio.
"What do you want, Old Timer?" She sighed and nodded her head to Paul, the subtle movement being all he needed to know it was time to leave. The wolf leapt out the window and took off into the woods.
"I found answers."
Those three words changed Nora's life. The two sat for hours as she sobbed learning the truth. After Old Man Quill left she packed a bag and trudged off into the woods. Cell phone in hand she called the one person she needed most. The one who understood.
"Rose."
"Nora? What's wrong? Are you crying?"
"I am at the treaty line. Can you get me?"
"Two minutes."Nora sat on a rock on the Cullen's side and stared at the ground. She snorted when she heard the crunch of leaves. The girl turned her back to the line knowing who it was and not wanting to see his nakedness.
"Nora. What the fuck are you doing over there?" Paul glared at the woman.
"Is your dick away?"
