Blood Red Crown (Volturi Kings)

"The Volturi. I guess you can say they are the closest thing to royalty my world has." Edward said as he gazed at the painting with Bella by his side.
"Is that... Is that Carlisle?" She asked pressing a finger to her chin before pointing at a man in the background standing next to a beautiful woman in an ivory gown with red eyes and strawberry blonde hair.
"Yeah. He lived with them for a few decades. Described them as very refined. No respect for human life of course. But instead respect for the arts and science at least. And the law. Above all else the law." Edward spoke as a shiver run down his spine at the thought of the law.
"Vampires have laws?" Bella asked tilting her head to look at her immortal love.
"Not very many. Only one is ever really regularly enforced."
"And what is it?" She asked desperate to know more of the world she craved to be apart of.
"That we keep the existence of our kind a secret. We don't make spectacal of ourselves. And we don't kill inconspicuously. Unless you want to die." Edward said slowly looking at Bella as he finished his sentence.
"Stop talking like that. You know I gate the thought of anything happening to you. Of you getting hurt." Bella hissed out and reached out to caress Edward's cheek before looking back at the painting. More precisely... The woman standing next to Carlisle.
"Nothing could hurt me but you." Edward whispered but his words fell on deaf ears as Bella stared at the woman.
"Who is the woman with Carlisle?" She asked memorized by her beauty.
"Seraphina, the 'Queen' of our kind." Edward sighed as he too looked at the painting again.
"So she is one of their wives." Bella said wondering which of the vampires were wed to Seraphina.
"No. She is THE wife. Married to all three Kings." Edward shook his head and turned to gage Bella's reaction.
"She is married to all three? Isn't that...?" Bella gulped with a slight blush.
"Odd? For some especially humans. However for vampires it isn't uncommon to have more than one mate. Rare to find them at the same time. And ever more rare to be mated to more than two. Vampires normally find their second mate after the first dies. Actually Esme is Carlisle's second mate. But I would ask him about that yourself one day. He doesn't speak of her much."
"So Carlisle knows the Queen?" Bella asked and chose to ignore the secret Edward had revealed until she could speak to Carlisle himself.

At that moment Carlisle approached from behind them and stared fondly at the painting, "Seraphina is a close friend of mine. We got along quite well together and she was rather curious about my diet. She is an impressive woman and able to balance out her husbands' various personalities quite well." Carlisle grinned as he thought of his dear friend.
"Balance them?" Bella questioned as she pondered over this 'Queen'.
"Well Marcus... He is rather depressive and a man of few words. He has never fully recovered from the death of his first mate. Seraphina is the only one known to break his walls. And Caius is very... Keen to violence and has a rather short temper. Known to be cruel. She is the only person who can calm him and rein in his fury. And then there is Aro. His lust for power drives him. That is what pushed him to track her down in the first place before he even knew she was their mate." Carlisle said thinking back on the times he watched her hold Caius back in court, make Marcus laugh as they strolled through the gardens, and spoke calm words to Aro to keep him from making rash decisions.
"So... She is gifted then? Like Edward, Jasper and Alice?" Bella asked catching the fact that Carlisle mentioned power.
"She is highly respected in the vampire world and actually very feared as well. While I don't know what her gift is and it's full potential I do know it is extremely powerful and very dangerous." Carlisle frowned.
"Dangerous?" Bella gulped as the only vampires she had met had rather typical powers.
"Many years ago there was a coven who made a deal with the Children of the Moon. They wanted to destroy the Volturi and take their place as the rulers of our kind. In exchange the Children of the Moon would have full hunting rights to however many humans they wanted."
"Children of the Moon?"
"Werewolves."
"Wait, werewolves exist too?!"
"There are many supernatural creatures in the world. Some I don't even know about. But now... The Children of the Moon are nearly extinct."
"How?"
"The wolves and rogue coven started a war against the Volturi that ended many lives. And during the war Caius became surrounded, injured and nearly killed. Seraphina became so enraged by the thought of her mate in pain that her full power was awakened. In an instant she destroyed over 100 opposing wolves and vampires."
"Over a 100? In an instant? Just how powerful is she?" Bella gasped and took a second look at the beautiful woman in the painting.
"After the war when Seraphina saw the scars left on Caius from the wolves she had them all hunted down and slaughtered for revenge. After that she hasn't shown her violent side, but our world now knows that it is there."
"Wow..."
"Every year they hold a ball to celebrate the Queen's birthday although the exact date is unknown. One day if you are changed maybe you could join us and meet the Queen yourself. I am sure she would like you, Bella."
"Carlisle!" Edward hissed at the thought of his human mate ever turning and it made Carlisle smiled sadly.

So while writing the different parts of this particular one shot I was super inspired to continue with this character and her story along with the Kings so I have decided to turn this one shot and the other parts of it into a story so if you really enjoy reading about the Blood Red Crown I will be releasing a book upon completion, in a couple weeks maybe to ,called Her Blood Red Crown and it will be about this particular character and her story and the world inside this one shot thank you so much for reading this one and I really hope that you will enjoy the book I will create for Queen Seraphina - TheRoseOfVolturi
