Bella watched curiously as she saw Esme scurrying around the kitchen cooking. The mother figure of the Cullen family was making so much food that Bella was sure it would feed an entire army.

"Um, Esme? You don't have to make this much... I am not that hungry." Bella mumbled and twirled some of her hair between her fingers.

Esme stopped and turned with a bright smile, "Oh I know dear, but you're not the only one I am cooking for."

Now Bella was very confused. Who else would be eating this? She knew that vampires don't eat so what was Esme talking about? "I am sorry, but I am a little lost." Bella tilted her head to the side.

This made Esme hesitate before she chuckled, "Oh, that's right. You haven't met her yet."

"Met who?" Bella questioned.

"She's here!" Emmett roared from his room upstairs and Esme gasped happily.

Bella followed as the Cullen family, minus Edward and Carlisle who were on a hunt, hurried out the door. She saw a beat up blue motorcycle and a woman in the driveway. The woman had olive skin covered in tattoos anywhere below the neck that Bella could see. She was sure even more covered her legs under the black jeans and leather boots. The woman had on a gray tank top and a leather jacket with the sleeves ripped off. The jacket was covered in color patches and pins from various animes, cartoons, book series, music and more. But it was the woman's face that really drew her on. She was expecting to see her face covered in dark make up but she was surprised to see that she wore no make up at all, yet she was as breathtaking as any of the Cullens. In fact so was so beautiful that Bella believed her to be a vampire until she saw her haunting silver eyes. They were animal like, reminding her a lot of a wolf's. And the woman's hair was dyed a mixture of light greens and blues.

"Yo! I'm home!" The woman cheered and gave a wave as she placed her bike helmet on the seat.

What happened next shocked Bella more then anything. She thought she was used to this supernatural world she had become caught in, with the Cullens and shapeshifters... But this was her first encounter with this type of being. Emmett jumped from the porch and in a flash launched himself at the woman. His fist reaching for her face, but the woman grabbed it and used his own weight to flip herself into the air. Emmett tripped on himself and landed on the ground, causing cracks in the Earth. And the woman stood beside him with a foot planted on the back of his head.

"Gotta be quicker than that, Emmie. What would Jasper say?" The woman smirked and helped pull the vampire to his feet.

"I would say he still has a lot to learn." Jasper said smugly from his place on the stairs besides Alice.

"Welcome home, Riven!" Alice giggled and clapped her hands happily.

"Damn that hurt." Emmett groaned and flexed his hand. The action drew Bella's eye and she stuttered when she saw the cracks healing on his fist.

"Shouldn't have been so rash." The woman, known revealed to be River, snorted and patted the large man on the shoulder. Her silver eyes scanned the area and landed on Bella who was hiding behind Esme, "Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit. Do my eyes deceive me or is that a human you got there, Mrs. C?"

Esme laughed and pulled Bella out to stand next to her, "River, this is Isabella Swan, Edward's mate."

Bella waved slowly and kicked at the floor a bit trying not to stare into those silver eyes.

"Eddie, finally found his mate? Good for him! Welcome to the family, Isabella. Name's Riven Cullen, the second best looking member of the family and honestly the coolest one ever." Riven smirked and pointed her thumb at her chest.

"And who is the best looking in the family?" Jasper raised an eyebrow and Bella was in awe at how friendly the southern man could actually be.

"Obviously it's the ever beautiful Mrs. C!" River laughed and Bella shrieked when the woman was now standing in front of her with a bag in her hand, "For you my lady." She grinned at Esme and gave a mock bow.

Esme giggled and playfully whacked the woman's arm before taking the bag. Esme opened it and gasped loudly, "You didn't!"

"Oh, but I did." River waggled her brows and Bella noticed the little silver ring in her brow.

"This must have cost you a future!" Esme was in a state of awe and pulled a shimmering gold base from the bag. It was definitely ancient and almost looked Egyptian.

"Can't cost me a future if I dug it up myself." Riven laughed.

"That's what you've been doing? Tomb raiding?" It was Emmett's turn to snort as he joined them on the porch.

"Hey, hey, hey. It was not a tomb. I checked. I am not completely a barbarian. I found it fair and square in an undiscovered temple." Riven pouted, offended.

"This is beautiful, Riven. Thank you." Esme gave the woman a hug, "It's good to have you home."

Bella was openly staring at the woman as everyone returned to being inside and gathered around the woman who had a handful of bags. She wasn't a vampire. Bella was certain of that. No gold or red eyes. She didn't sparkle when the sunlight hit her skin. She was stuffing her face with a cinnamon roll. Definitely not a vampire. It was obvious she wasn't human either. Those silver eyes, her speed, and she beat Emmett. Leaving cracks in his hand and keeping him planted in the ground. Definitely not a human.

"What are you?" Bella's outburst of the question made every head snap to her attention and she blushed.

Riven grinned, it reminded Bella again of an animal. And she set the bags on the coffee table and threw her feet onto Jasper's lap, "What do you think I am?"

"You're not human." Bella stated.

"Definitely not." Rose rolled her eyes from her place at the doorway.

"You're not a vampire."

"Most definitely not." Riven smirked and Bella saw something in her silver eyes. Something strange.

"I don't know what to guess." Bella was racking her brain.

"Well, start with asking me some questions." Riven chuckled and swiped another cinnamon roll off the platter in front of her.

"You're impossibly fast. Faster then Emmett. Are you faster then Edward?"

"I can be. Depends on how motivated I am that day."

"You're also strong. You beat Emmett who is supposed to be the strongest."

"I wouldn't say she beat me up." Emmett tried to defend.

"I would." Rose snickered and Emmett made a defeated whine.

"She most certainly beat you up." Jasper muttered but everyone in the room besides Bella still heard it.

"Shut it, Hale!"

"I am stronger, yes." Riven nodded while Emmett pouted and hissed under his breath in the corner, Riven flipping him off over her shoulder without breaking eye contact with Bella.

"You can eat human food. You don't throw it up? Like they do?"

"Nope. Iron tummy." She roared with laughter and ate nearly a whole cinnamon roll whole.

"Your eyes...?"

"Silver. Strange huh? You got used to these golden eyes freaks." Riven shrugged and pointed her thumb at Emmett nearly jamming him in the eye.

"Oi!"

"Any guesses?" Riven now leaned forward.

Bella whispered something that she suddenly remembered from the Quileute legends. Something about a silver eyed being.

"Ding, ding! We have a winner!" Riven laughed and tossed her head back.
