Name: Jodi Roanoke

Age: Fifteen

District: Twelve

Sex: Female

Physical Appearance: Jodi sits on the fence of noticeability. Her skin is as pale as any merchants' daughters in Twelve, but in the right light, it appears concerningly translucent. Her wiry frame is appropriate given her circumstances, and yet her height is somewhat of an enigma – nothing about Jodi suggests a girl who's barely five foot three. Her hair is plain and most commonly split into two loose, brown braids that fall just above her hips. Her eyes match her hair in color, but even in the most flattering light, they're hardly anything special. Although Jodi lacks pop, she makes up for it in sheer bluntness. Her eyebrows are dark and as solid as cinderblocks, permanently knitted in suspicion; her hair tightly frames her face in the same way heavy curtains hug a frost-laced window in the winter; striking freckles dot her face, clustering around the bridge of her nose and the sharp edges of her cheekbones.

Personality: To meet Jodi's gaze for just a moment is hard, and to keep it is harder. She's neither fire nor its smoke; Jodi is the frantic dance of a flame on the verge of being blown out. She's tired of being tired, and it shows: her voice is low, unsteady, and seemingly always on the edge of shattering, but the cracks pulse to an inconsistent rhythm – perhaps there was a time where she tried to conceal them, but that time has long since passed. Even at her most capricious, Jodi can't help but come off as a bit dull. Her existence is like one long, involuntary sigh: long-drawn, exhausted, and punctuated with hiccups and gasps for breath. Despite this, there are times where Jodi pushes her personality to its poles. She can be incredibly explosive or astonishingly withdrawn, and on some days, she can swing between the two extremes in the span of just a few hours. While this can be off-putting to some, it's just more weariness – the desperate last jolt of a dying flame.

Background: For being as pro-rebel as they were back in the day, the Roanoke family was lucky enough to escape most of the Rebellion's destruction. Their house sits in the middle of a remote community of about a half-dozen families in Twelve's northwestern borderlands, leaving them in the fortunate position of being far from both the poverty of the rest of Twelve and the toxic dust that still occasionally blows in from the northeast. She lives with her family – her grandmother, both of her parents, and her younger sister – on one of Twelve's only real farms. In the context of the rest of the district, the Roanokes tend to be more noticeable then they should be: in the Seam, for example, Jodi isn't known for her outbursts; she's known for her access to food. For this reason, they stay in pleasant isolation.

Family: Ezel Roanoke (77), Trent Roanoke (52), Rosalyn Roanoke (50), and Shiloh Roanoke (12).

Reaped or Volunteered: Reaped. In Twelve, is there really any other option?

Weapon of Choice: Jodi has no experience with any real weapons, but something she could keep in her hands would be nice. Something like a pitchfork, maybe.

Token: A feather from a yellow-billed magpie she found nesting in a tree outside her bedroom.
