Name: Benedict Quill

Age: Seventeen

District: Three; Technology

Sex: Male

Physical Appearance: Benedict's mother always told him he possesses a pretty baby face, but he never believed her. It wasn't until his mother died that he started to wash his face, style his hair, and pay attention to his looks like his mother would want him to. His large emerald eyes hold a concept of youthful innocence that has been shattered with pain and loss. Anyone else looking at him would think of the gloss and glimmer in his eyes as a concept of youthful curiosity and love, but Benedict knew who he was and what his eyes have seen. Nonetheless, they stand out amongst his narrow, structured cheekbones. His dark hair is thick and styled every which way, showing off his narrow face. With his sharp but petite face, he surely claimed the title of a 'pretty boy' with little to none manly features that his dad wished he had, with the exception of standing over six feet tall. Along with height comes all skin, bones, and ligaments that awkwardly stick out. No matter how much he ate, he never gained a pound, so Benedict was stuck with his skinny stick figure. Besides, his District was all brains and technology; there was no need for Benedict to be strong because all his labor was inside his brain.

Personality: He is a nice boy, really. He is always known to others as sophisticated, respectful, and cute (from his youthful face). Kindness was something he gained from his mother, while his father gave him stubbornness. He would never hurt a soul, but he would argue against one if he needed to. Although, he could barely continue an argument without choking up and surrendering eventually. He is an emotional thing for being surrounded by a District compiled of analytical thinking. He is smart, nonetheless, ranked towards the top of his class, but he is too shy to show off and too afraid to fail in front of others, so he remains quiet. Since his parents gained some unwanted popularity, Benedict preferred laying low and avoiding people's stares, but he couldn't help attract attention from others with his genuine personality and his comforting attitude.

Background: Benedict was raised by his father and mother until he turned ten. The first year of the Games, his mother committed suicide, and his father grew distant from Benedict. You remind me too much of her, his father would say. He remembers when his mother was alive, though. He remembers his mother and father working all day on the computers, finding solutions to things Benedict didn't understand yet. People in his District knew what his parents were doing, and they ridiculed the Quill family for it. He remembers strangers coming up to him and saying his parents were stupid and wasting their time, but his mother felt no hatred and more disappointment about how people doubted their own District. Always be proud of your District, Benedict, his mother told him. He knows now that his parents were finding solutions for the way the Districts live and get along, and the Games completely tore his mother apart.

There's an easier way, was the last thing he heard his mother say to him while learning about the Games. On the year the Games begun, the morning of Reaping day, his mother committed suicide. She left the world before she had to witness the world ruin itself.

Reaped or Volunteered: Reaped. He would never volunteer. His mother said the Games was the last thing she wished upon him. He continues to wonder what she was thinking now.

Weapon of Choice: A hammer. He didn't want to puncture people and he remembers his father using a hammer to set up the shelf in his room. It was the only 'weapon' he was familiar with.

Token: A picture of his mother.

Other: If you call him Benny he may physically fight you.
