Luke
I was ducked behind the logs, my rifle set on top, ready to aim. I saw Nick and Clementine on the ground, Clementine awake and alert, whereas Nick was facedown, and not moving. The gunshots rang out, now unstoppable. I tired shooting at the men in the trees, but it was hard to get a good shot without getting killed. Kenny was behind a tree, using the best of his sniper skills to take out the Russians. The boy Arvo was leaned over a limp woman, doing CPR. Everyone else in the group scattered behind objects to avoid the bullets.
"Shit! I'm hit! I'm hit!" Mike yelled, clutching his arm.
"Mike, get over here!" Bonnie yelled. I saw Clem eyeing me, so I crouched lower.
"Clem!" I called out to her. She looked around some more, and started to crawl away. What the fuck? I watched at one man in the ground shot at her, the bullet just running past her ear. She ducked, and whimpered, before continuing to move. "Hey! What're you doing?!"
I could hear the cries of the baby, but the last time I saw him, he was resting on Rebecca's lap.
"Clem! Get behind cover! You're out in the open!" I yelled. And with that, she jumped up, and ran over to me, skidding on her back to stay low. "Now keep your head down."
I looked over, and saw Nick. He was awake now, but I saw him clutch his stomach. I gotta help him. But then I looked to the side, and saw the baby laying by itself, crying.
"Oh shit!" I yelled, ad ran to my feet. I rushed to the baby, and scooped it up. I tried running back to the wall, but as I did, something sharp hit my leg. "Ahh!" I yelled, and collapsed to Clementine, the pain pinching further as shifted myself upright.
"Luke, no!" Bonnie yelled out. I saw Nick scrape himself up, and move toward the wall, but he still held his side in pain. I fed out again, and went behind the wall. Clementine took the child, and I grabbed my leg, the blood seeping through my jeans.
"Is the baby okay?" Clementine asked.
"Yeah...yeah...he's fine, he's fine. I'm not, but the baby's fine..." I muttered, and groaned. "Well, he got me in the leg, but...I think...I think it went straight through...shit, I don't know."
I cried out again.
"I'm fine. I think I'm gonna be fine." I said. "Where's...where's Nick...?"
Clementine looked over further down where Nick lay, eyes closed and limp. Shit.
"He's over there!" She yelled. "Is he okay...?"
"I...I don't know!" I yelled. I watched as Kenny ran to Arvo, and picked him up, placing his gun to his head.
"You get out here, or I'll put a bullet in this kid's head!" Kenny demanded. Arvo started squirming, and yelling.
"Leave him alone, Kenny! He's just a kid!" Bonnie yelled.
Nick
I breathed heavily, and my side stung. I pulled my jacket to the side, and felt no bullet in my skin. It must've caught the leather, yet it penetrated my side, blood pouring out at a levelled pace. My head felt heavy, and I shut my eyes. I know Luke got shot...and I tried to help...but I couldn't move. I just couldn't...do anything...
Luke
"Get out here!" Kenny yelled. "Right fucking now!"
As Kenny held Arvo in his grasp, I saw the woman Arvo was trying to save earlier start to move, when i realised that she had turned into a lurker. She started squirming toward Clem and the baby, and Clementine took her gun, and shot it dead.
"Noooooooooo!" Arvo yelled out. Arvo ran from Kenny, and to the now dead person on the ground, her blood staying the snow red. "Natasha! Natasha! No! Please!"
Kenny dived to the ground, avoiding the man shooting at him. He stood up, rifle aimed at Kenny, ready to shoot, when all you could hear was a deep, sick gurgling. Blood started flowing from his mouth, and he turned around. A knife was stuck in the back of his neck.
And behind him was Jane, who seemed frightened to her own actions. The man dropped to the ground, dead. Kenny stood up, and shot him dead so he wouldn't come back. I gripped my leg, and stood up, leaning against the wall.
"Nick!" I yelled, and Clem ran to his side.
"Nick, are you okay?" She asked. Nick opened his eyes, and winced. He lifted his jacket back to show blood that had found its way though his shirt.
"You're shot!" I yelled, and started pulling myself toward him, crying in pain. Nick shook his head, and lifted a bullet.
"It got caught in my jacket...must've gotten out wrong..." Nick used the wall to lift himself up too.
"How bad is it?" Clementine asked. Nick lifted his shirt up a little, to reveal a deep circle imprinted in his skin, a cut located around the side.
"I'm fine...just...not feeling so good..." Nick slurred. "Come on."
"It's safe to come out!" Kenny yelled.
"Here, I got him." Bonnie said, and took the baby off of Clementine. "Luke? Nick? Are you guys okay?"
"Jesus Christ, that was uh...that was intense." I said, and held my leg. I caught Jane's gaze, and looked away. God. Now this would be awkward.
Nick
Bonnie handed me a plaster.
"Just tape your side. You could get infected." She said. I rolled my eyes, and took it.
"Man, I thought...I thought that was it." Mike said.
"It was for these assholes." Kenny said. Clementine walked over to talk to Jane...
God that slut. I wish she would've died. I just hoped...I hoped she didn't come back for Luke. That'll be the last straw for me.
"My leg...anyone got anything to stop the bleeding?" Luke asked. Mike pulled a roll of bandages out of his pocket, and threw it to Luke.
"Thanks. Bonnie?" Luke asked, and he leant up against the wall as Bonnie kneeled down to his leg.
"Those sons of bitches!" Kenny cussed. "Fuck! Lucky they didn't shoot that baby, otherwise they wouldn't died a lot worse."
As Kenny was talking, I peeled back the tape, and clasped the bandage over my side. It'll stretch, but it'll be fine.
Luke stood up, and we crowded to where Rebecca lay dead in the tire. God.
"How did this happen?" Mike asked.
"She...turned. Just like that." Luke said.
"Clem...spotted it first. Did what she had to do to protect the child." Bonnie explained.
"Is ain't your fault, okay?" Luke assured Clementine. "She just...she just lost too much blood. It ain't nobody's fault."
"You saved the boy's life." Mike said.
"Y'know, we coulda done better by her." Luke said.
"She was just...too far gone." I said.
"She's with Alvin now." Clementine spoke.
"Yeah...yeah she is." Bonnie spoke. "Don't worry, Becca. We'll take care of your boy. You just rest easy..."
I saw Kenny's fat curl up, and he turned around. Arvo was knelt by his dead sister, but Kenny grabbed him and pulled him up.
"You piece of shit!" Kenny yelled. And with that he threw his fist at Arvo's head.
"Hey, hey!" Bonnie yelled. Bonnie handed the baby to me, and I was holding him for a second time.
"Stop!" Mike yelled, and pushed Kenny away.
"Guys, stop!" Luke yelled.
"Get off me!" Kenny yelled.
"It's over, man. He ain't a threat to us!" Mike defended Arvo. But I was with Kenny on this one. Arvo just needed to fuck off, and his friends wouldn't be dead. He would be okay.
"How can you say that?! Of course he is!" Kenny yelled. Kenny raised his gun at them. "Get out of the way!"
"Woah, what're you doin'?!" Mike exclaimed.
"I'm doing the same thing this asshole tried to do to us!" Kenny replied.
"Kenny...his...his sister is dead! He's lost enough already! You don't need to do this!" Clementine yelled.
"There is house...food. Please, I can take you!" Arvo begged.
"Bullshit!" I yell.
"No no, is true. We have place. Not far. Food." Arvo said.
"See? He wants to help." Luke said.
"Oh, don't be stupid. He's just trying to save his skin. Why the hell would you hell us? Huh?" Kenny asked.
"Kenny's right." I said.
"Shut up, Nick!" Luke yelled.
"I...I not want to see more people dead!" Arvo said.
"Then close your eyes, and I'll make it quick." Kenny said.
"Kenny, back off!" Mike snarled.
"If he's telling the truth, it could save all of us!" Bonnie yelled.
"I...I think we can trust him. He wants to live as much as we do." Clementine said.
"It's worth the risk to check this place out. Trust him, don't trust him, it doesn't matter. We should go anyway." Jane spoke up. Fuck. Is it just Kenny and I that see this wimp affecting the group later on?
"We just need to be careful. It can't be far from here." Jane said.
"You stay outta this! You're the reason these fuckers came after us in the first place!" Kenny yelled. Exactly.
"Don't try to pin this on me." Jane said.
"Lay off, Kenny." Luke said. "She just helped us."
"I was there with her. It's my fault too." Clem said.
"Think about the baby, Kenny." Bonnie said. With that, the baby started to cry in my arms. "If there are supplies, we need em'. We ain't gonna last much longer without food. We gotta take a chance."
"Unless someone's got a better plan...." Jane said. Kenny thought about this, before lowering his gun.
"You got somethin' to tie this shitbird up?" Kenny asked.
"Yeah...I got somethin'." Bonnie said sadly. If this idiot it coming with us, I think I would prefer him to be tied up too.
