A Fresh Start

I'm gonna wait till 3:30 to see if she texts me or before I text her. I guess for now I'll just play with the little baby. She woke up a couple of minutes ago. She seems like such a happy baby so smiley and giggly. I forgot to ask her name so I've just been calling her princess for now. I think she likes the nickname too because she smiles whenever I say it. She's so little and precious. I sit down and unstrap her from my chest and just hold her. While I'm cooing and making faces at her I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"It seems little miss Tiana has woke up. Is she being good? Do you need me to take her?"

"Yeah, she woke a couple of minutes ago. She's such a little angel. No thanks, I got her."

"Okay just let me know if you're struggling," Mia said then walked over to the other kids.

"Ah, so you are a princess huh? Tiana is such a fitting name for you princess."

I don't know why but I always talk to small children and babies in regular English. I have no clue why people just blabber and mumble to them.

I hear my phone ring so I switch her to be in one arm and I check it.

I'm like 5 minutes away. Come down to the parking lot when I get here?

Yeah sure. I'm in the childcare room rn and omgg all the cute lil kids 🤗🥰

Atalia🥰⭐️:
Sounds fun. But the light just changed and I gotta go.

  I stand up and walk to one of the other caregivers in the class and hand Tiana to them since Mia looks busy. As soon as I do the Tiana starts screaming crying. The other lady hands her back and she stops crying. I giggle and just look down at the baby.

"I have to go little one. I'm sure this nice lady will take good care of you. Okay? Bye, princess." I hand her back and she still cried.

  I'll take her to Mia I guess. I grabbed her back from the other lady and walk over to Mia. I explained what's happening then hand her to Mia and say bye again. This time she stays quiet. I grab my small cardigan, my bag and walk out. The childcare room is on the 3rd floor so it takes me a minute or two to get to the ground floor. I walk to the parking lot and sit on the steps and wait.

Pull up by the door you dropped me off at.

Alright, I'm pulling in now.

  I know I just met her but for some reason, I'm so attached. I really like her. She seems like someone I can trust and rely on. Plus her and J are friends. He trusts her. He met her when we first moved here in January. That was about 8 months ago so not long but long enough. When we first moved out here J and Solana both went out to make friends and I just stayed in the house. They always had friends over and I just stayed in my room. I'm sure I could have gone out and made friends but I preferred the house. I-

"Cmon spacey, I've been sitting here for a minute." Atalia hollered out the window laughing.

  I didn't even realize she was there I was so in my own head. I probably should stop doing that.

"Hi hi how was work?"

"Well someone's happy to see me and work was okay. How was school?"
