Aziraphale was stood in his bookshop with crystal water surrounding him up to the sole of his shoes. He sighed and tried to find the source of the water,he looked around the bookshop and after 10 minutes of splashing about he found the issue. A burst pipe under the sink in his small kitchen he returned to the front of the bookshop grumbling and went to find the telephone. He found it and dialed for the plumbing company the shop was registered with-in case things like this happened.
Ring
Ring he groaned, and rolled his eyes.
"Good afternoon, perfect pipes plumbing, how may we be of assistance?" The cheery voice of the call center lady brightened Aziraphales face, until he heard her next sentence that was "Good afternoon I was wondering if you could send somebody out as I have a burst pipe in my bookshop and it is expelling rather alot of water." Aziraphale stated happily back he didn't want to sound rude- he wasn't rude. "Yes of course, but we are very busy today and we may not be able to get to you for a few hours if not longer." She stated still very cheerily, this made Aziraphale slightly angry and a hint of sarcasm entered his voice"oh no that's fine then isnt it I've always loved reading sopping wet books I will see who ever arrives later thanks bye." He hung up.He huffed as the water had risen to just cover his shoes, "stupid pipe, I guess I better get out of here I don't want phnemonia" he said aloud to himself as he sighed and splashed to the front door. He pushed down on the handle and pushed the door, nothing happened -he panicked and pushed harder, he checked if it was still locked-nothing. He did the same with his back door in the kitchen and growled when that wouldn't budge either, the water was tickling out of that pipe quickly and as he re-examined the pipe he saw it wasn't burst but cut and next to it was a little post it note floating in the water, his face turned red as his blood boiled as he read it "Love Gabriel" he could almost sense the smugness on Gabriels face when he wrote that. It also explains the doors not working.
He decided to try his last hope, a window he grabbed a chair and decided to smash it but as he raised it he noticed a slight shimmer on the window, he raised an eyebrow inquisitively before placing the chair back down and touching the glass, he cursed, "power deflecting glass" he bit back tears of frustration. The water level was rising it was now up to his ankles and he couldn't break angel glass and he definitely couldn't use his miracles now.
He trudged across the room as an idea popped into his head, he shivered as he picked up the telephone and dialed Crowleys number he mumbled the last four digits"1666" he smiled and placed the phone to his ear.
Ring
"Hello?" Crowleys voice was a welcome break to just hearing trickling water, speaking of which it was now up to just before his knees.
"Hello Crowley dear" the angel was clearly flustered anyone could hear it especially his husband.
"Angel, what's happening what can I hear in the background?" The demon was questioning the angel gently but he still sounded stern.
"Well, uh while I was asleep Gabriel broke in and well cut a pipe so that's what you can hear-water- the shops filling with uh it and well he replaced the windows with power deflective"angel" glass and um" the angels voice broke and he began crying "the doors won't work so I can't get out"."Angel hey calm down breathe, how far up is the water now?" He asked worriedly although he tried to hide it.
Aziraphale heard the Bentley start up and smiled a bit "its um"he looked down and shivered it was up to his knees now he had been distracted by Crowley so he hadn't noticed. "Up to my knees dear" he sighed it was freezing cold too. "Okay I'm nearly there I'm going to kill Gabriel myself this time get up on a table or something so your not stood in the water, it must be freezing". Aziraphale smiled at his husbands protectiveness and did as he was told but as he sat on his brown oak desk the phone line shorted from water damage. "Oh for gods sake, sorry lord but this is your fault!" He cried and the tears started again as he watched his beloved books begin to float across the waters surface he was powerless-and he hated it, the water kept rising and it soon was level with the table. Aziraphale looked down in tears until he heard someome banging on the front door and looked up to see Crowley they locked eyes and smiled at eachother, until Aziraphale shivered from the cold then Crowley began fumbling around trying to force the door open.
