Crowley woke up, back in his human form laying on the cold stone floor. He gasped and shot up as he scanned the room for Aziraphale, he began panicking then he saw it. The cell door was open a tiny bit. It wasn't locked! He brushed him self off and hastily pushed open the door, he could hear metal clanging and people shouting especially Gabriel. He looked up as he heard a loud roar and more shouts - he knew where Aziraphale was at least. He opened the door and left the room. Shielding his eyes from the bright afternoon sun attacking his vision.

He stepped out into the courtyard and saw guards surrounding Aziraphale, he looked terrified, his fur blowing in the wind. Gabriel saw Crowley and shouted at Aziraphale as two angels grabbed Crowley roughly. "Aziraphale, let them put it on or your ugh husband gets it" Gabriel spat in disgust at the word husband. Crowley struggled against the angels but saw the worry in Aziraphales eyes and watched in horror as the majestic lion in front of him bowed his head and bent his paws to allow some angels to put a chunky leather harness on him. Crowley struggled harder and fought "Aziraphale! No don't let them do this" His voice was full of care and panic, Aziraphales sparkling blue eyes just gazed into his as they attached the ropes to the harness. Aziraphale had given up, he felt so torn if he didn't let them do it they would hurt Crowley and to prevent that he would do anything.

Aziraphale growled but didn't fight as they attached his harness to a pile of tree trunks on a flatbed. Gabriel walked over to Aziraphale and patted him on the head to patronise him. "Good lion, now pull I need those logs over the other side of this estate for the new building". Aziraphale stared at Crowley for a second and then nodded his head. Crowley just whispered back "don't let them hurt you angel". He felt broken, he couldn't watch what was about to happen. "Pull Aziraphale!" Aziraphale couldn't take his eyes off of Crowley, that was until he felt the whip, he roared and began pulling as the whip cracked down onto him. He had tears in his blue eyes as he groaned at the weight of his load.

As night fell, Crowley was allowed to stay in the courtyard and watch Aziraphale, Gabriel knew he wouldn't leave without him so it didn't matter. Aziraphale had been working all day. The threat of Crowley being hurt gave him strength to carry on, even when he whimpered as the harness dug into his fur. After he finished pulling logs, the angels loaded up a huge pile of stone bricks under Gabriels orders. Aziraphale growled but kept pulling.

Gabriel stood next to Crowley as he watched Aziraphale pull. Crowley felt an unbearable amount of guilt and it had to stop.

3 days in and Aziraphale was being worked day and night constantly, the sparkle in his eyes was gone and his paws were sore from padding along the stone all day. But still much to Crowleys protests he kept pulling and heaving heavy materials for Gabriel. Crowley couldn't take much more of this. He stormed up to Aziraphale who was pulling his 8th load of the day. Gabriel was stood next to him inspecting his work. "Gabriel, stop this now okay I am so sick of this look at him you are going to work him to death if this carries on!" Crowley shouted at Gabriel so loud he surprised himself, he was so full of "take a step back now, all the other animals have been sold off and he is no different. The only reason I can't sell you is because your not an angel otherwise trust me I would!" Gabriel taunted Crowley, he made him think and a horrible realization hit Crowley when he repeated Gabriels words in his brain. "He's no different... Your selling him?!" Crowley begged it not to be true as Gabriel snickered "yes, tomorrow morning" Crowley didn't know what to do, this was wrong not his angel, lion, whatever.
Crowley sprinted past Gabriel "Stop!" Ignoring all orders he ran to Aziraphale. Aziraphale nudged him with his head - meaning get back over there in case you get hurt. "Aziraphale, I won't let them take you" Crowley said his voice cracking as he pulled and tugged on the harness. Aziraphale cuddled into Crowley as the pair sunk into thought. "turn back!" Aziraphale shook his head, he wasn't going to let anyone hurt Crowley. Crowley sighed.

"Okay" as the sun began to rise the pair woke to a beeping, the sound of a lorry reversing. Crowley stood slowly as Aziraphale rose then Aziraphale made a confused noise as Crowley disappeared. He sighed he probably didnt want to see this anyway . Two angels approached them, they attached a rope to Aziraphales harness yet again and began walking him to the lorry. Aziraphale growled but followed and walked up the metal ramp sadly. When they chained his leg to the inside of the lorry to stop him escaping and had locked the gate Aziraphale lowered himself to the ground again. As he looked out through the bars he felt his heart break, tears started to pour from his eyes as he thought -would he ever see Crowley again? He missed Crowley... What would they have him do where he was heading?

Tears spilled over the lions eyes and his ears drooped as they drove over bumps and winding roads. Aziraphale whimpered.. "Ssssokay angel I'm here" Aziraphale almost jumped in shock as Crowley slithered out of his mane smugly and laid on his huge paws as he looked up at Aziraphale. The lions eyes filled with wonder, hope, excitement and most of all love as he licked Crowley gently" Azzziraphale, Sssstop you will mess up my scalesssss!" Crowley chuckled and Aziraphale smiled as much as a lion can.
