Mild trigger warning: Non consentual kiss. Don't know if I needed to put that but just in case. I thought I'd consider that this could make some people uncomfortable if it will please skip this chapter. -thanks.
Aziraphale sat at his desk the golden glow of the morning light streaming into the room around him. He sighed, Crowley had gone home for a few days to "take care" of his plants and tidy up a bit. Aziraphale was awoken from his daydreaming by the bell ringing. He glanced up to see a familiar angel in front of him. He gasped and felt his eyes go wide as saucers "J jack?" He stumbled over his words in shock. Jack nodded. "Hey Az".
Aziraphale hugged his old friend and grinned. "How did you get back? You were gone." Jack shrugged and picked up a book, balancing in his palm before sighing and returning it to the shelf. Aziraphale felt relief wash over him that Jack didn't drop his first edition of Alice in wonderland. "So Az, miss me?" Aziraphale nodded "of course I did".
Aziraphale couldn't help but grin at how normal Jack being in the shop again felt. After hours if talking and catching up Aziraphale was back at his desk doing a stock check, when Jack stood next to his chair and pointed to the papers in front of Aziraphale. "That should be a 7 Az" Aziraphale looked down and Jack was right. He corrected it and went back to work "thank you" he said simply.
Throughout the day Aziraphale and Jack talked more than you would think physically possible. They felt as though they had never left eachother and Aziraphale had to admit. Having his best friend back was amazing.
At about 6pm Aziraphale was staring at the book that lay on the table. He ordered it from Sweden months ago and it was finally here, he squeaked with glee and placed a hand on the cover gently. He was so excited for this book. It was a hand written first edition of Oliver Twist. He didnt acknowledge Jacks presence as he appeared next to him. Instead they just looked at eachother. "New book?" Jack inquired and Aziraphale was about to answer when he felt a warm presence on his hand. He looked down and gulped. Jack had his hand over top of his. He coughed and pulled it away from Jacks. "Y yes... Uh first edition" he blushed and turned around to walk away. Book in hand.
He placed it in its new spot on a shelf and went quickly towards his bedroom. Aziraphale was mortified and confused to say the least. He called back to Jack "goodnight!" And pushed the door closed behind and sighed as he heard the lock click. He frowned and shook his head. Aziraphale hung up his jacket changed into his pyjamas and went to bed. As he lay on the mattress thoughts swirled in the angels mind. What was that? Why did he do that? What did that mean? He was so confused but as sleep over took him the thoughts drifted away.
The next morning Aziraphale was dressed and already tidying away a new shipment of books hen Jack walked onto the shop floor. Aziraphale had no idea where he slept last night nor did he care. "Hey Az" Jack said almost smugly making Aziraphale slightly annoyed but he responded politely none the less. "Good morning Jack". Was all he said his voice slightly cold.
Aziraphale pottered around the shop all morning avoiding Jack as much as he could. They spoke much less than the previous day. Jack was beginning to hover around Aziraphale and it was getting on his nerves. "Jack will you just move please!" He snapped. Jack just grinned. "Jeez temper much Aziraphale". Aziraphale prayed Crowley would come back soon. He could either be back that day or the one after. The demon was quite unpredictable.
Aziraphale huffed and glared at Jack. Jack glared right back and grinned devilishly. He started stepping towards Aziraphale. Aziraphale shuddered at his smile and stepped backwards. He kept retreating until he was pushed up against his desk by the other angel. Aziraphale had one hand on the desk next to him keeping his balance and one in front of him trying to keep Jack at a safe distance. So far he was succeeding.. "I.. I think you should leave now Jack" Aziraphale said less than forcefully.
Jack laughed "funny Az" he put his hands on top of Aziraphales making Aziraphale whimper. Aziraphale now had both of his hands on the desk either side of him. He struggled under Jacks grip. "Jack get out." Jack simply shook his head and pressed Aziraphales hands together and held them with one of his own. Aziraphale refused to look at Jack. He kicked out but Jack expertly stepped out of the way and then back in a split second. With his free hand Jack brushed a curl out of Aziraphales face and grinned. "Jack. Get out. " Aziraphale prayed so much for Crowley to walk in before things got more out if hand. As he avoided Jacks gaze.
His prayers were answered but not before Jack kissed Aziraphale on the lips. Aziraphale struggled against him and tried to push him off he closed his eyes as Jack dug his hands into his wrist harder.
"Angel?" Aziraphale would usually have been overjoyed to hear Crowleys voice. Jack ran a hand down his jaw making a tear slip down Aziraphales cheek. "Angel? You here". Aziraphale opened his mouth to answer but was silenced by Jacks piercing glare. Aziraphale felt so hurt and alone even though Crowley was in the shop. He couldn't hold it back anymore as Jack gripped his hands harder. With silent tears rolling down his cheeks he let out a sob. "Aziraphale shut up" Jack whispered hoping Crowley would give up the search and leave. Aziraphale sobbed a little louder and Jack caught a tear with his finger and ran his hand down Aziraphales face making him squirm. He sobbed louder with his eyes clamped shut.
He gasped as Jack grunted in pain and fell backwards to the floor with a thud. Crowley stepped to the side and placed the chair he'd hit Jack with back onto the floor. He saw Jack had Aziraphale against his desk and heard the angel cry but didn't know what else happened. Aziraphale opened his eyes to see Crowley stood in front of him. Crowley reached out to touch the angel but he jerked backwards and whimpered.
His eyes sparkling with fear and sadness. Crowley sighed, it broke his heart to see Aziraphale like this. He held out his hand to the angel but enough away from him that he knew he was safe. After a few seconds Aziraphale held Crowleys hand amd allowed himself to be pulled into a hug. They sank to the floor and Aziraphale sobbed into Crowleys shirt.
Aziraphale hiccuped through his tears "I'm... Sorry... I huh... Tried to get him off.. Me" Crowley frowned "Angel, look at me" he did, his sparkling blue eyes gazed up at the demons "this wasn't your fault. Okay" Aziraphale looked guilty. "He.. Kissed me.." He admitted and Crowley felt a surge of anger. Not at Aziraphale, never at Aziraphale at Jack.. How could he do that to such a kind, lovely, bubbly angel? How could he reduce him to the sobbing terrified mess Crowley held in his arms. Crowley accidently touched where Jacks fingers dug into Aziraphales hands he yelped. "Angel Im so sorry". He nodded.
He stood up and gently helped Aziraphale to his feet. His calm, suave appearance faded as Jack stirred. His eyes opened and he coughed and scrambled to his feet. Aziraphale hid behind Crowley. Cowering slightly, his hands trembling. Jack smirked, the most smug, evil, creepy smirk you will ever see. That was until Crowley's fist collided with his jaw and his head snapped back. Blood gushed from his newly spit lip. Crowleys face was stone. "You ever come anywhere near him again and you will regret it Jack. I will break so many bones in your body." Crowley snarled and even Aziraphale was shocked by his cold, grim tone. Jack nodded and turned away from him, he started walking away. Crowley grabbed his wrist and dug his nails in till Jack hissed in pain. Then Crowley slapped him across the face so hard a red hand print spread across his face. Jack yelped and exited the shop at an almost run. Crowley turned to Aziraphales shaking form and hugged the angel to him, supporting most of his weight against him. Not that he cared. He swayed and rocked the angel much like with a newborn until he heard Aziraphales breathing settle down and even out. He picked the angel up bridal style and smiled as he laid him on the bed. Aziraphale looked so peaceful in sleep. Crowley lovingly kissed his forehead and watched the angel sleep to keep his angel safe. He whispered "I'll always be there angel.. For eternity..." As he held the angels hand.
