Aziraphale was in his bookshop as usual, readjusting to Gabriels daily visits. He was starting to get into a routine. Today was different though it was nearly 3pm and still no sign of the ghastly archangel. He waited another ten minutes tapping his fingers nervously on his desk. Then the bell suddenly rang and he looked up instantly but it wasn't Gabriel - it was Anathema. Aziraphale breathed a sigh of relief "Anathema how are you" he chirped her face was deadly serious with a hint of sadness from the frown tugging at her lips. "Aziraphale, is it true" she said a little harshly, she emphasized his name, she usually called him "uncle".
Aziraphale was caught off guard so he stumbled over his words a little "i is what true Anathema" Aziraphale was slightly hurt by her tone but he masked it with confusion. "Don't act like you don't know, I'm sorry I don't feel comfortable with you around my child for a while Aziraphale, Goodbye" Anathema had tears in her eyes but from her point of view it had to be said, at least that's what she thought as she left the bookshop, without saying another word to Aziraphale. Aziraphale was awestruck he just stood there for a good 2 minutes until it finally registered, Anathema, had just said she couldn't have him around Aries, or well in her words "my child". Aziraphale broke down into tears and sobbed into his hands, what did he supposedly do? Aziraphale felt like he had cried buckets. About an hour later Crowley walked in looking worried "Aziraphale?" Once again he didn't sound too please and Aziraphale could guess where this was going.
"If your leaving too just go okay, don't make this any worse" Aziraphale didn't look up as he spoke and his voice was quiet. "Yeah uh sorry Aziraphale" was all Crowley said before placing his gold wedding ring in front of the sobbing angel and walking out. Aziraphale was too upset to notice that as Crowley neared the door the tips of his hair began turning back grey, a familiar grey and if he was facing him head on he would have seen his eyes change to purple. Another giveaway would have been his lack of sunglasses. As Crowley left Aziraphale felt his heart break in two as he slipped his wedding ring into his pocket. Every movement felt like a stabbing pain through his heart, he still didn't know what he had done?! But what he did know is that now he had nobody, everyone had left him and he knew his options.
He decided to hand himself back over to Gabriel. He knew it wouldn't be fun, but if he had supposedly done something to hurt his family that much, he didn't deserve anything good. Aziraphale sighed and wiped his eyes before clicking, Gabriel appeared looking smug as ever "Called me back so soon?" Aziraphale nodded "I'm going back with you, just like you wanted I guess you win, huh" Aziraphale sounded broken and hopeless, he was just giving up.
Gabriel grinned wickedly "turn around then" Aziraphale nodded gloomily and did so as Gabriel handcuffed his hands "you know the drill Aziraphale" once again he nodded as Gabriel tightened the handcuffs and pushed him towards the door. His plan worked perfectly, he didn't even have to kidnap anyone - that was going out of style anyway, not that Gabriel cared.Of course the real Crowley was on his way to the bookshop to see his angel, and the real Anathema was at work, and Newt watching Aries for the day.
Gabriel had tricked Aziraphale.
