"(Y/n), are you sure you're hungry? You've barely touched anything on that plate," Clarisse said, eyes full of concern. "Are you not feeling well?"
"Jimin gets home soon, doesn't he?" you asked instead of answering her questions.
"From what I know, yes. He should be coming in at any time now," she answered.
"I think I'm gonna go to my room. Sorry for causing trouble. I'll wrap the food and eat it tomorrow," you said, standing up from the table and bringing your full plate to the kitchen.
Clarisse followed you and snatched the plate away before you could get the Saran Wrap. "I'll do this. Just go upstairs and relax."
"Thank you," you said gratefully.
"And (Y/n)?" You stopped in the kitchen doorway and glanced back at the older woman. "Everything will work out. Don't worry about him too much."
You smiled. "Thanks for the reassurance. Have a good night, Clarisse."
With that, you left and made your way upstairs and down the hallway leading to your bedroom. You got changed in some comfortable sleeping clothes and prepared for bed; brushing your teeth, washing your face, putting night cream on. You closed the curtains and turned on the bedside table light. Just as you were about to get in bed, you heard the front door open and a shudder simultaneously wracked your body.
Holy fucking shit, you were not prepared.
You took a gulp and slowly lowered yourself onto the bed, moving up so your back was against the headboard. You reached over to the bedside table and rummaged through the drawer, taking out a book quickly. You opened up to a random page and began reading, trying to pretend you had been doing this longer than you actually have.
Your eyes darted to the door every few seconds, unsure of when Jimin would walk in. A thought suddenly struck you that had your body going limp: what if he didn't come in? Maybe he's too worried to face you and will decide to stay in another room. Or maybe he's got work that he needs to do and will stay in his office for the night. Perhaps he's angry and he's gonna--
Your thoughts were interrupted when the bedroom door opened slowly. You didn't dare look over but you could tell who it was. Not only because you could faintly make out the person in your peripheral vision, but because if anyone else decided to come in this room without permission they wouldn't be leaving without a few injuries, courtesy of your boyfriend. Your heart began to race in your chest as he took slow steps over to you. Your hands were probably trembling and you couldn't make out any of the words on the book pages--your eyes just wouldn't stay focused on one spot. He stopped right beside the bed and you held your breath, waiting for what would happen next.
"Baby...," he began in a voice so soft you felt yourself melting. "You're too tense I'm worried you're gonna hurt yourself. Would you rather if I go somewhere else tonight?"
You swallowed audibly and shook your head, taking a deep, shaky breath in. "I-It'll be fine. How was the trip?"
"(Y/n)," he mumbled instead.
You finally looked over at him, taking in his features. His silver hair was styled back, revealing his forehead. His eyebrows were knitted together and his eyes looked tired. His lips were turned down slightly in a frown. He was wearing a suit but his tie was loosened and the first few buttons of the shirt underneath were open, exposing a bit of his porcelain skin. He looked great, and just as he did when you last saw him.
"Yes?" you whispered.
"I don't wanna do that. Don't ask about the trip, it doesn't matter. Let's talk about anything but that," he said, tugging his tie off and letting it drop on the floor.
