"I know you were probably hoping for a peaceful return but I contacted all the guys and they're gonna come over to see us," Jimin informed.
"Did you tell them about what happened?" you asked, opening the trunk and grabbing a bag.
"No, just said that it was important. That should freak them out and have them hurrying to come as soon as possible," Jimin replied, taking the rest of the luggage.
"Guess our welcoming home party is gonna be bigger than I anticipated," you remarked.
"It'll be fun! Besides, I thought with everything that's happened you'd want the people closest to you here. Almost as a reminder that we're out of the hellhole that is my parents." Jimin dropped one bag so that he could open the door before picking it back up, using his foot to push the door open the rest of the way.
"You have a poi--"
The wind was knocked out of you as a body jumped on you, tackling you to the floor. You groaned and rubbed your aching head, opening your eyes to see two familiar dark ones staring back at you, her eyebrows knitted together and bottom lip wobbling.
"You're back! I knew you'd be coming today! I told everyone but they wouldn't believe me," Soomi cried, burying her face into your neck and hugging you.
"Jesus, it's been, like, two weeks and even that was too long for you to handle?" you teased.
Soomi pulled away from you and slapped you, not too hard but with enough force to turn your face to the side, startling you.
"I thought you would be killed!" The poor girl had tears brimming in her eyes, one even slipped down her cheek. Something heavy sat in your stomach and you forced a smile on your face, caressing her hair.
"I'm here now, that's all that matters, right?"
"No fucking way..."
You peeked over Soomi to see Celeste and Miori standing at the bottom of the stares, mouths wide open and eyes bulging out of their sockets. You waved tentatively and that was all they needed to go running over to you, falling to their knees on either side of you and hugging you. Soomi was whining at them, saying something along the lines of her being here first and for them to wait their turn, but you weren't really listening. It felt so good to be back home.
Movement to your right caught your attention and you looked up to see Clarisse standing above you, eyes teary and a warm smile on her face. You made grabby hands at her and she knelt down to take one of your hands, holding it tightly.
"Welcome home, sweetie," she whispered.
"Y'know, this is super heartwarming and all, but what am I, chopped liver?" Jimin deadpanned and it was only then that you realized he was standing off to the right watching you all piled together on the floor.
"Well, why don't you get your ass over here and join us then?" Celeste replied sassily.
"I don't need a hug, just some acknowledgement would be much appreciated," Jimin chuckled, picking up the bags you had been carrying and going up the stairs, probably going to drop everything off in your shared room.
"I can't believe you're here, back in one piece," Miori said, sounding dazed.
"Why the hell are you back so early anyways?" Celeste questioned, a skeptical look on her face. "Not that I'm complaining, it's just kinda weird that you were supposed to be there for a month and yet here you are, back home not even two weeks later. Did they try to eat you or something?"
"I'll tell you about it later."
"No! I wanna hear now!" Soomi begged.
"Trust me, it'll be sooner than you think. We just have to wait--"
