Everyday seems duller than before, I suppose that happens when you work with people you can't get along with. Constant isolation and rivalry happens every single day. I guess that's why I decided to quit my job and found myself wandering in the busy streets of New York looking for a job and a new apartment after I was kicked out for not paying in time.

With a luggage dragged behind me, I slip past the crowds, avoiding the empty streets as much as possible.

My phone suddenly rung and I fish it out from my back pocket and pressed it in my ear, "Temper speaking,"

"Hey Temp,"

I halt from my steps and took a look at my phone. "Jodie, you called?"

Jodie used to be a close friend of mine back in highschool but when we graduated, she moved to Europe and I never heard of her ever again, well, until now.

"Hey Temper, it's been a long time, you still living in Manhattan?"

"Yeah, same old place, why?"

"I'm in town and if you don't mind, I'd like to catch up with you?"

I rounded a corner and something wet fell in my forehead, I look up to see the sky turn gray and raindrops drizzled on me, the gods must be punishing me from all my mistakes in one day.

A string of curses poured out of my mouth as I wove past the people who had miraculously dispersed as soon as the rain started pouring down the sky. I found a nice looking shed with the most horrible smell of urine. I crinkled my nose and swallowed the bile rising from my throat.

I glanced at my phone and place it back in my ear, "Sorry about that, the rain just decided to pour down on me," I shivered slightly as the cold air hit my face.

"Are you okay? Where are you?"

"Somewhere near an old cafe with the most tremendous scent of coffee beans,"

"I'm comin' to get you," and then she hung up.

I put my phone in my jacket pocket and watch as the rain, pounded against the cars passing by. Few cars run down on a puddle and it seems the day had gotten worse, it drenches me from head to toe.

A black Lamborghini parked in front of me and the window open. Jodie's face appeared and she waved at me. I'm still feeling a bit awestruck at the sweet car in front of me that I didn't see another car run down a puddle and some of those dreadful water entered my mouth.

I spit on the ground and stood up from where I sat. Jodie had went out of her car and went towards me with an umbrella. She must have not seen my situation since she rush towards me and pulled me in a hug. She smells like an apple.

"Temper, I miss you," she pulled away from me and her eyes landed on my big luggage behind me.

"You...uh... planning to go for a trip out of town?" She asked and I shook my head. All my emotions started to pile up, the anger, sadness, longing, jealousy and many more. Tears sprung out of my eyes and it run down my cheeks.

Jodie seems startled at my sudden reaction but she pulled me in a tight hug. "What happened?" She asked and rub my back gently as I continued to sob on her shoulder, staining her expensive jacket with my snot.

"This happened," I sniffled and she slowly lead me towards her car, dragging my luggage behind her.

Once we were settled in her car after all my struggle to not enter and suggested to just sit on the roof, Jodie buckled me up in the expensive leather seats which I have smeared with mud and snot.
