The next day, I awoke in the crack of dawn. I bathe myself with the same water that have used from yesterday. After taking a cold bath, I rummaged in my wardrobe and wore my most lightest dress. I shove the things I want to bring with me inside a big chest and dragged it towards the window.

I look down to see if there were no guards positioned underneath and when I confirmed that there was no one, I grab my blanket and formed a long rope. With it and all my struggle, I lowered the chest in the ground and I followed.

I took a look at my room for one last time and smiled, "When I return, I'll make you guys proud," I whispered and slid down the ground.

I dragged the chest into the garden, making sure no one heard every scraping the heavy chest emitted. Footsteps came and I duck behind the bush. Guards were patrolling and I was left with no choice but to strap a bag of coins underneath my dress and made a run to the old entrance behind the garden or where the garden ended.

I sneak out of the palace successfully.

I went straight to the hill where Everett had told us to meet and I stayed there under the shade, watching the sun fully rise. He still had not arrived.

I played with my fingers and sat on the ground, leaning my back on the tree. Someone was coming and I directly stood up expecting it to be Everett but I only saw his personal butler. I frowned and tilted my head in curiosity.

He looked out of breath when he finally reached me. I bowed as low as he could and stood right back up and handed me an envelope with Everett's signature behind it. I thanked him and he bounded down the hill but not before he said sorry to me.

I peel the envelope open and saw a letter inside of it.

My dearest Temper,

Where do I begin? I think I should begin by saying my most sincerest apologies. I know I promised you, my love, that I shall elope with you today however I realized that I have been neglecting my duty as a son to my parents. I have to do it Temper, I had to marry Lady Emily. You must be wondering why I had used 'had', well, it is because I have already married her. I am so sorry my love. I had to do it. I shall be dropping by your palace later for I was invited by your father. I shall see you there.

With love,
Everett

This is what I read. I hunch over the ground and started crying once again. He promised to elope with me but instead, he married Lady Emily without my consent.

I drop the letter to the ground and just sat there, staring at the space. I felt like I lost all hope. I feel like I lost myself loving somebody like him. I feel...neglected and rejected.

Somebody approach me and pulled me in their arms. The smell of my mother invaded my nose and I let her hug me. I was numb all over. She led me back to the palace and helped me bathe. She tuck me in bed like a child and left.

Numb.
