When we reached the hotel. We decided to take a rest for awhile and she headed to a small shop who sold coffees. We ordered our preferred beverages and sat there, enjoying the ocean view.
After we were done drinking coffee, we went back inside the hotel and crowded the front desk. There was no one in sight behind the desk so for a couple of minutes, Jodie was slamming her hand repeatedly at the bell.
Finally, a petite black haired woman with tanned skin wearing a uniform appeared. "I am sorry ladies and gentlemen for my delay, something was hold up in the kitchen. How may I help you today?"
Jodie huffed and flicked a strand of her hair, "We are here for the rooms that are reserved under the name of Moriarty,"
The woman nodded with a smile and turned to her computer. After looking at it, she rummaged through a drawer and slid four keys towards us. I watched as Jodie's face morphed into an angry one. "We have five rooms, why is there four keys?"
The receptionist frowned and faced the monitor and back to us, "That is what I see here in your record ma'am," that was a bad choice of words because Jodie slammed her fist down on the desk and the receptionist jump back in shock.
"Where is your manager here, I want to talk to the manager," Jodie shouted and Everest moved away from her, in fact, we all did. The woman seem a little shaken up as she disappeared behind a door. Roxanne scooted towards me, "I have never seen Jodie this scary," she whispered in my ear and I nodded in agreement.
Jodie shoved her hand in her purse and pulled out her phone. She punch in a number and pressed it in her ear. "Hello? That's what you're gonna say, hello? Hello to you too, where are you?" She shouted at the phone, I glance at Everest to see him holding back his laughter. He saw me looking and mouthed Sean and I nodded in realization.
"You're doing some business? Are you kidding me? You told me that this is a vacation, where the fuck are you?" She shouted and slam her fist on the counter again.
I move back as far away from her as possible as she continue to hit the counter. When the phone call ended she threw her phone and purse towards Everest and faced a thin tall man who just entered with the receptionist tailing behind him, still looking scared.
"You called for me ma'am?"
Jodie's eyes seem to turn to slits as she grab the man's collar and pulled him, the man struggled to break away from her as Everest tried to pry her hands away from his collar. Once the manager and Jodie were in a safe distance from each other, Jodie straightened her back and crossed her arms, "Why is there only four rooms reserved for us? We paid for five,"
The manager fixed his collar and wiped a trickled of his sweat, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience ma'am but the owner had an important guest and there is no more rooms in the other hotels and here so since you are the only ones who reserved a room and has not yet come, he decided to take one of yours. We will return to you the money that you used to pay for that room," by this, Jodie seem to cool off a little and she slump her shoulders slightly.
Everest thanked the manager and led Jodie to the couch by the door. We all followed.
When Jodie was settled down, Everest cleared his throat and smiled. "I guess we have to make new arrangements for the rooms," he said the words cheerfully and I watch as Jodie sent him a venomous glare, if only looks can kill, he'd be lying on the floor right now.
"What was your previous arrangement?" Everest turn to look at Jodie who masked her glare with a smile. She didn't answer but she continued smiling like a lunatic. Everest dropped his smile and Jodie drop her's. "Originally, there are five rooms, for Sean, Everest and Penelope. Then I reserved a big one for four for Timmy, Roxanne, Pete and Justin and one room for Temper and me," she explained and run her hand in her face in frustration.
Everest cleared his throat and sat beside her, "Since we have four, we need someone to share a room with someone,"
"Well you can share your room with Sean," as Jodie finished saying this, the look on Everest's face was comical, he looked scared. He shook his vigorously and moved away from Jodie.
"No, no, no, no, Sean is not a great roommate, do you know that he snores like a ship is going to dock any minute and when he falls asleep beside you, he's gonna wrap you in his legs and dude, its horrifying," his eyes were wide in fear as he dart a look from left to right.
I burst out laughing and so did the rest. Jodie shook her head with a smile and played a strand of her hair, "I can always share with Everest," she said and this time, I was the one who looked horrified. "But didn't you said that we are roommates?" I cut in and Jodie nodded.
"Its actually a win-win situation since I can be with Everest, Everest won't be sleeping together with his brother and you can see Sean's face for the first time,"
Everest looked at me like I was crazy, "Why didn't you search in the internet?" He asked and my mouth formed in an 'o' as the thought crossed my mind, "I hadn't really thought of that,"
I shook my head and glared at Jodie, "I. Am. Not. Sleeping. Beside. My. Boss," I pointed out and Jodie rolled her eyes, "Very well then, you're stuck with Penelope for a week," she said and my eyes widened, "NO, I will not sleep in a room together with this midget," Penelope spoke up and I glared at her, "I'm basically taller than you and for your information, I too don't want to sleep in a room with you," I snap and we both glared at each other.
"Then it's settled, you're staying with Sean and don't worry Temper, there are two beds in the room so you need not to stress yourself about sleeping together with him," Jodie grinned at me and I gaped at her.
"Come one guys, let's go to our rooms," she stood up from the couch and headed to the front desk. She grab the keys on the desk and handed us the key to the rooms were staying in.
