Chapter 4

1K 46 9

Why are people over 45 reading this?? Is it a thing where people lie about their age...

If you're 45 and have nothing better to do than read a teenagers fanfiction about a Lord of the Rings ship that had no chance of happening, ummmm...

Also this chapter is basically just Legolas's thoughts so its um not the most interesting, but it sort of is important to build character.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe Legolas saw him as more, more than a friend. The thought crossed his mind, before it dissolved into his conscience.

It wasn't right.

He had to be honest with himself. He knew he had been thinking of Aragorn ever since they met, he was always at the back of his mind. But he never realised it.

He realised he was always reassuring himself, but never realised it. During the fellowship, he almost forced himself to think Aragorn was just a friend.

But it was crazy.
Unthinkable.

For a elf prince and a king of a man kingdom, it would be impossible even if he wanted it.

Then again, Aragorn probably just saw him as a clingy friend.

He shook his head, almost shaking away the thought. He had to stop thinking about it.

He froze .

He remembered Arwen, Aragorn's wife. The one who gave him the evenstar.

He remembered tracing his fingers along the delicate, silvery threads of elvish metal. He remembered wondering whether the pendant would ever go back to it's rightful owner. Whether its owner was dead...

And now, Arwen was ill, close to dying, and Legolas was having these thoughts.

He sat by the windowsill, the setting sun, glowing red and pink at him. He frowned. All of his life he was always doing things for others, making others happy before himself.

He had helped Tauriel, find her true love, that broke his heart.

Helping Thorin's company, almost tore his Ada away from him.

Helping the Fellowship, well he had just murdered people, for a good cause, yet he got almost no recognition.

This time he would think about himself.

He came to terms with his feelings. He loved Aragorn, as more than a best friend. He needed to put himself out of his misery, and find out whether he felt it too.

He sent out an order with a elf, to call Aragorn to meet at the tree.

The elf's face turned into a determined stare. He carefully got up from the bed, not making a sound.

It was soon dark by the time Legolas made it to the tree.

He lowered his hopes, dreading what is to come, but he knew couldn't go on without knowing if he felt the same.
