enjoy my messed up chapter, that probably has all the little tolkein details mixed up, but whatever

-----------------------

Legolas had quickly taken his horse, his bow, the only clothes he took were the ones he was wearing, and of course some lembas, and emergency lembas too, in case, the first pile ran out.

He needed time to think everything over. As an elf, people would think that he has all the time in the world to think about it. But this was love, he was in love with a man, who wouldn't wait for him to think, he doesn't have all the time in the world.

He rode, in no particular direction, through most of the night, the only sounds were the beautiful call of birds, the chittering of bugs, and the most out of place, extremely loud chewing of Lembas. His favorite sounds. He stopped in a dense forest, that resembled slightly of Mirkwood, but worked enough so he felt at home.He set up camp under a tree, though he didn't need to sleep, the horse did.

Now he did his thinking. His mind was almost like a list, checking off each reason they couldn't be together.

Arwen.  Willingly gave up her immortality, for her 'true love', and the thought of the pain she would feel, once she heard it was for nothing.

More so it was an elf and man relationship, Arwen may have been excused but he wasn't so sure he would be.

It wasn't a 'natural' relationship either, with both their high statuses it would definitely be hard to accept, if at all.

But he had to think about his happiness - what did he want?  He wanted Aragorn. He had made it clear.

He leaned back against the tree, and for the first time since he left Rivendell, his grip on his bow loosened, and he relaxed.  He loved and Aragorn and Aragorn loved him. He closed his eyes, and his mind went blank. Someone was watching him.

'snap'

Legolas's eyes darted open, and before you could blink he was on his feet, his bow ready to shoot. But he was too late. A quick shuffle of greyness, was all he saw, following a fierce pain in his stomach, gradually increasing. The pain stretched to all his nerves, causing his arm to seize up, as it released the arrow. His legs were tumbling underneath him, and the painful grunt of a heavy creature was heard nearby. and then a 'thud'. The thing was dead, it was pure luck.

He needed to move now, but his head was searing with pain, and all he could see was a bright white light. The elf's legs, tucked underneath him and he fell the ground, with a 'thud'.
