JACK'S MUM, MARGARET IS IN THE KITCHEN SERVING DINNER. JACK'S SISTER MOLLY (4) IS SITTING IN HER HIGH CHAIR WAITING PATIENTLY FOR HER PLATE OF FOOD. DEREK (10), JACK'S OLDER BROTHER HAS ALSO WALKED IN AND IS PLAYING ON HIS MOBILE PHONE.
Jack's mum calls out from the kitchen, while serving the food.
MUM:
(Shouts)
Jack dinner is ready.
CUT TO: JACK (8), IS IN THE OFFICE WITH HIS DAD. THEY ARE BOTH LOOKING INTENTLY AT THE PLASTIC TUBES LINED UP IN A ROW.
JACK:
(Looks over at his dad)
Dad mum's calling us for dinner.
DAD:
No son, she's calling you, so you better going.
JACK:
Ohhhh, but I want to stay here with you.
JACK'S FATHER SHAKES HIS HEAD AND POINTS TO THE DOOR. JACK SLOWLY WALKS AWAY FROM THE TABLE AND TAKES OFF HIS LAB COAT AND GOGGLES. HE THEN TURNS BACK TO HIS DAD.
JACK:
Don't invent anything without me.
JACK heads out of the door
(Shouts)
I'm coming mum, but dad is still down here.
MUM:
(OOV Shouts)
Honey, dinner's ready.
CUT TO JACK'S DAD IN THE LAB SHAKING HIS HEADAND
