11. INT JACK'S HOUSE DINNER TABLE 19:00 DAY 2
EVERYONE IS SEATED AROUND THE DINNER TABLE DISCUSSING THEIR DAY. THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF DISCUSSING DADS DAY AT WORK.
MUM:
That sounds great dear. I hope you get a raise once you put it all together. Is this the big thing you and Jack have been working on?
DAD:
Yes and it should be really good for the company once I have found that missing ingredient.
MUM:
Sounds good. How was your day Jack?
JACK:
Good, but our science class is really boring. The experiments we do are boring, but today our teacher Mr
Milligan was talking about atoms, which are really cool. Like the ones you have shown me dad.
DAD:
That's good son.
MUM:
And Derek how was your day?
DEREK SHRUGS HIS SHOULDERS
MUM:
And what does that mean young man?
DEREK:
It was alright, nothing special. I'm not a geek like Jack, so it was just ok, no complaints. Although I would like it if I could not to go to school on a Friday.DAD:
You barely go to school as it is. I'm always signing forms for your school trips. Going to Disney land, Alton Towers and the Zoo. I mean do you actually get any work done in that classroom?
DEREK:
Yes dad, and all those trips are educational.
MUM:
Yes dear, that's why he goes to that school, because they teach them to experience it and not sit in a classroom all the time.
DAD:
Oh I see. (TURNS TO JACK) Ok son, so when you're ready, meet me in the study.
JACK:
I'm ready.
JACK QUICKLY FINISHES HIS DRINK AND GETS UP FROM THE TABLE.
MUM:
Young man not so fast, it's your turn to clean the dinner table and not everyone has finished.
JACK:
Ahhh mum, but dad is ready for me.
MUM:
Yes but we haven't finished, so it will have to wait.
JACK SLUMPS BACK INTO HIS CHAIR, FOLDS HIS ARMSAND WAITS FOR THE REST OF THE FAMILY TO FINISH EATING THEIR DINNER.
