19. EXT JACK'S GARDEN, THE ALLY WAY 17:55 DAY 3

JACK, LADY AND BERTY ARE WALKING DOWN A SMALL ALLY WAY.

THEY HAVE BEEN WALKING THROUGH THIS ALLEY FOR THE PAST THIRTY MINUTES. NOTHING BUT DIRT AND WET LAND.

JACK:

(Whispers to Lady)

Where are we going?

BERTY OVERHEARING TURNS AROUND

BERTY:

You'll soon find out

JACK CONTINUES TO WALK BESIDE LADY UNSURE TO WHERE THIS PATH IS TAKING THEM. UNTILL FINALLY THEY GET TO AN OPEN SPACE. IT IS A BIG LANDSCAPE, WHERE THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF BUGS, ANTS, GRASSHOPPERS, WORMS, SLUGS, BEATLES AND THE LIKE ALL IN ONE PLACE.

LADY:

(Turns to Jack)

Here we are Jack.

JACK:

What is this place?

BERTY:

This is our spot. We call it 'Our Spot'.

JACK:

Coooool!

BERTY AND LADY CONTINUE WALKING AS JACK TAKES IT ALL IN. THIS NEVER SEEN BEFORE LAND WHERE ALL THE INSECTS CONGREGATE.

BERTY LEADS LADY AND JACK TO A SEPARATE CORNER OF THE OPEN SPACE.

BERTY:

Ok kid, I gotta get you cleaned up.

JACK:

Great, because these clothes have gotten really dirty since this morning.

BERTY:

Dirt, you should see it in its natural form. Anyway you're still too clean.

JACK:

What?!

BERTY:

Stand right over here.

JACK MOVES TO WHERE BERTY IS POINTING

Move back a little bit more, more to the right. Ok now an inch to the left...Perfect.

BERTY TURNS TO LADY

Would you mind closing the screen for me please?

LADY:

Sure

LADY REACHES OVER AND STRETCHES A CLEAR SCREEN AROUND WHERE JACK IS.

JACK:

What is this?

BERTY:

You'll soon see. Now all I want you to do it close your eyes and do not open your mouth.

JACK WORRIED, TURNS TO BERTY

JACK:

Are you going to eat me?

BERTY:

Heck no, don't be silly. Now listen, if you want to make it out here you gotta do what I tell ya, ok kid.

JACK NODS

Right, so as I said we have to get you cleaned up. This will only take a minute. The waters real cold you'll love it. Remember don't open your mouth and if possible don't breath either as it will only complicate things.
