12. INT STUDY ROOM, 20:10 NIGHT DAY 2
JACK AND HIS DAD ARE IN THE STUDY, LOOKING AT ALL THE TESTS THEY HAVE CONDUCTED. JACK HAS ON HIS LAB COAT AND GOGGLES.
JACK:
Dad do you see anything?....
JACK'S DAD SHAKES HIS HEAD.
(Pointing)
What about that one?
DAD:
No....nothing yet. I just don't know why it's not responding. I have tried this quite a few times and I keep getting the same result.
JACK:
Maybe we should change the environment, you know take it outside and see what happens, that could work.
DAD:
Maybe, but I really don't have anymore time left. This was going to be the big news I was going to show everyone at work tomorrow.
JACK'S DAD WALKS OVER TO HIS DESK, SHAKES HIS HEAD AND TAKES OFF HIS LAB COAT.
JACK:
But dad you can't give up.
DAD:
I'm not, but I will have to put it away for now and get on with something that will work.
JACK:
Okay, but I really think it will work if we move it to a different place or if I can be the guinea pig.
DAD: (Frustrated)
Jaaaack, that is not going to happen. I might think about taking it out of its environment but that's it.
JACK:
Ok, dad. I think I'll go to bed now. I have a test tomorrow.
DAD:
Ok good, what's the test.
JACK:
It's a PE test.
DAD:
They test you on PE?
JACK'S DAD SHAKES HIS HEAD IN DISMAY
JACK:
Yep, goodnight.
DAD:
Goodnight.
