3. Ext THE GARDEN DAY 16:00
JACK AND HIS DAD ARE IN THE GARDEN, TESTING SOME OF THE FORMULA'S JACK'S DAD HAS MADE.
JACK:
Dad how is the special formula going?
DAD:
Well son, I have a few more tweeks and then I think I'm nearly there. I will soon be able to make small things a lot bigger and change the world of science, as we know it.
JACK:
Wow, is there anything I can do?
DAD:
Yes, don't touch it. I know how you like to view things and get involved but don't with this one son. I mean it. I have to keep a close eye on it and I need you to stay away.
JACK:
But dad I can help, you can even use me as a guinea pig to show that the formula works. I want to be tall.
DAD:
Thanks son, but nevermind how tempting that offer is, I would prefer if you stayed clear from touching it, smelling it and definitely tasting it. Its not finished yet and if you were to drink it you may grow tall and fat, which I'm sure neither of us want.
JACK:
I don't mind, I mean how long will it last.
DAD:
Hopefully the rest of your life.
JACK: (Enthusiastic)
Really?
DAD:
No not yet. Currently I have made it so that it lasts for about 30 days, but it's the side effects I'm really worried about.
JACK:
Dad this sounds so great, I can't wait to tell Mr James my chemistry teacher.
DAD: (Sternly)
No son, not yet. You're not even supposed to know. It is still a work in progress and as I said I am still ironing out a few things.
JACK:
Ok dad, your secret is safe with me.
JACK ZIPS HIS MOUTH SHUT WITH HIS HANDS
DAD:
Anyway tell me about school, how is it all going?
Jack
Not so good, I hate it.
DAD:
Why, I thought you loved school?
JACK: (Shakes head)
No, you know Mrs Turner she left and we have a new teacher who doesn't like me very much.
DAD:
Really, why do you think that?
JACK:
Well she is always picking on me and tells me that I talk too much. But I don't, honest dad.
DAD:
Well why would she say that if you didn't talk a lot.
JACK:
I don't know, I guess it's because she hates me.
DAD: (Sternly)
Jack
JACK:
Its true! There are much worse kids than me.
DAD:
Ok well let me speak to your mother about this and we will talk about it later.
