Sanem felt the bed move as Can got in. She heard him wish her good night, but she couldn't bring herself to say anything back. She was too angry. Not so much angry at Can anymore. More angry at herself for allowing this feeling to consume her. 'In the morning, I am getting up. I am going to call a cab or just walk home. And I am going to work. I just need to focus all my attention on work. There is a possible copycat murderer out there killing and doing other unspeakable things to young women. I am going to worry about that, not the fact that I'm in love with a man who is insanely attractive, world famous, and can have any girl he likes. But that girl isn't me.'

She fell asleep with a determined mind not to dream about him, though she knew it was pointless. With him this close to her, smelling him on his sheets and clothes, she knew she would dream of him.

Sanem was jolted out of a pleasant dream about Can. Ugh. I knew I would dream about him any way. Well, it's better than my usual nightmares I've been suffering from for months. What is that noise? Oh, Can's phone is ringing. Wait. Can. The man who has somehow gone from one side of this king size bed to the other and now has one of his arms draped over me with his hand on my stomach. Under my shirt. Wow. This guy really can't keep his hands to himself. Not that I'm complaining that is. It feels good. Really good.

Sanem was laying on her back and when she opened her eyes she saw Can's face right next to hers. His forehead touching hers. Sanem felt herself heating up, not just from his warm breath or where Can's hand met her skin, but everywhere. Thousands of butterflies filled her stomach and she felt those butterflies travel further down. Whew..  okay. I need to wake him up.

"Can wake up. Your phone is ringing. Can?" She put her hand over his and shook it a little.

"Hmm..what? Oh right." He let go of her and turned to grab his phone. Sliding his hand slowly off her waist causing goosebumps to cover her whole body.

"Hello? What? Okay. Okay. I'm on my way." He hung up. Sanem was already upright, and at the ready to hear the reason for this late night phone call. "Leyla has gone into labor. She's at the hospital. Emre is in Istanbul for a conference." He spoke all this as he got dressed. Sanem had run into the bathroom, got her clothes out of the dryer and was also changing. "The baby wasn't supposed to arrive for two more months. She told him to go. Now she's all by herself."

"Okay I'm ready. Let's go." Sanem said while coming out of the bathroom. Can loved that she was coming with him. Of course she's coming too.

Can knocked on Gamze's door and gave her a quick rundown on what was happening. Both he and Sanem got in the car and sped off toward the hospital in Silviri.

Can was breaking a few traffic rules to get them there in a timely manner. Sanem noticed his hands gripping the wheel tightly. "Can, calm down. We'll be there soon."

"Yeah I know. I'm calm." His words said he was okay, but his tone and white knuckles told a different story.

Sanem reached for one of his hands and held it in both of hers. "Women give birth all the time. She's at the hospital surrounded by doctors. She's fine."

He turned his head to see her smiling reassuringly at him. He took a deep breath and relaxed his grip on the wheel. Her words and her holding his hand was helping calm his nerves. "I can't imagine how Emre is feeling, if I'm this nervous. He's probably kicking himself for going to that conference."

"He will get there in time. And we will be with her in the meantime."

They arrived at the hospital and asked the nurse at the front desk for Leyla Divit's room. Another nurse escorted them to one of the delivery rooms where Leyla was in the middle of a contraction and screaming her head off.
