Author's Note:

Sorry I am a smidge behind with this update. I had family visiting from out of state. I'd like to say that's where all my writing time went... But I completely ignored them and proved I was not a robot an INSANE amount of times. Which with 90.1% of the votes, it seems like all of us were doing the same thing. 100% worth it! I LOVE THIS FAMDOM! You guys are incredible! and we just keep on proving it!

Now that my fingers and my retinas have recovered a bit, here is chapter 22...

They were only able to lay there for a few more minutes before Altan's cries filled the house. Sanem smiled to herself. Somehow having a baby in the house, even a crying one, added a serenity to the atmosphere. She opened her eyes and once again saw Can looking back at her. She felt even more relieved when he smiled too.

She leaned forward and kissed him lightly, "Are you feeling better?"

"Shouldn't I be asking you that?"

"Can, I'm fine. My head still feels a little weird and I'm a little groggy. But other than that, I'm good." Sanem went to stretch but she was still being held captive by Can's body. "You can let go now."

I'm never letting go. Not ever. Can tightened his grip on her as a response.

Sanem gave a little laugh, "Come on, Can. It's time to get up."

"No..." he grumbled.

"Hmm.. what if I told you I was hungry? I should probably eat something to help with..." Maybe I shouldn't finish that sentence. He doesn't need anymore reminders of what happened to me last night.

But it was already too late. Can knew what she was going to say and he could see her point. Food would do her more good than him keeping her hostage in the bed. As much as he wanted to lie in bed with her for the rest of the day. He took one last inhale of her scent and unlocked his arms and legs.

Sanem leaned forward a little to kiss his lips quickly once more, "Thank you." She turned and wiggled out of his embrace. She looked at the clock on the bedside table. It was still early. She hadn't missed her check in with Aziz. "Can, do you have my phone? Or can I borrow yours?"

"Are you calling your uncle?"

"Yeah, Aziz will want to know what happened last night. I texted him before I left Leyla's. So he doesn't know about the club." Sanem took a breath and shook her head. He is going to flip. I hope he did his morning yoga with Mihriban this morning.

Can got out of bed and reached into his pocket where he put Sanem's phone last night.

Sanem took the phone from him and was about to call Aziz right then, but Can was still standing there looking at her. His face still stained by tears and he looked so tired. She figured he wouldn't be leaving her side for awhile. She sat back down on the bed and opted for a quick text instead.

<<Everything is fine. Something did happen last night at a club I went to and now I need to give a statement to the Silveri Police Department. I'll call later with details. But right now it seems Can is not letting me out of his sight.>>

Aziz and his nimble fingers responded instantly

<<Call me the second you can.>>

<< I need details>>

<< I'll handle the police department computer software so there isn't a problem with your fake name.>>
