If You Tell Me To Stay

Sanem only woke up a few times from bad dreams. Even so, she still saw it as progress. She texted Aziz good morning and filled him in on her plans for the day. She had called him the night before and filled him in a little on the gossip around town. She kept her tone positive. She told him how she, Can and a few of her friends were handling the situation. And that their plan had already started working. As always, he was proud of her.

Next she texted Can good morning and a few seconds later she saw he was calling her.

"Good morning."

"Good morning, Sweetheart. How are you this morning?"

"Hungry."

Can chuckled, "I do miss making you breakfast. But I will tell you that my surprise tonight does involve food. But don't wait all day to eat."

"Food? Hmm?" Sanem thought about what surprises he would put together involving food.

"Hey! No snooping."

"Okay, okay" She laughed, "But can I ask one question? Just one."

"Alright. One question."

"You said special. Is there a dress code? Is this going to involve walking and I should wear something for that? Or are we going somewhere that requires a dress? Is it going to be cold? Do I need a jacket?"

"That's more than one question."

"Can..." Sanem whined.

"Wear whatever you want. Whatever you are comfortable in."

"That's not much help."

"Well that's all you're getting Miss Editor and Chief."

Sanem let out an annoyed sigh, "Fine."

"You need to get better at letting me surprise you. Because it's going to keep happening. Now, I'm going to get everything ready. You have a great day at work. And I'll see you tonight."

"Okay. Bye Can. See you tonight."

"Bye Sanem." And after tonight I get to end our phone calls with 'I love you'.

They hung up and Sanem got ready for work. She saw Melihat leaving for the salon and she quickly ran outside to catch her. "Good morning Melihat!" She called after her and ran across the street to give her a double cheek kiss.

"Good morning dear."

"Melihat, I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for me. Everything. I don't know how I can ever repay your kindness."

"It was my pleasure dear."

"Really, if there is anything you need from me. Just ask."

"There is something. But Can already knows what it is."

Sanem couldn't quite place her tone. She had a mischievous smile and her head did this little bob from side to side.

"Uh.. okay. And what would that be?"

"He asked me for it to stay between us. For now. Later I'll tell you what it is."

Sanem laughed at the odd response, "Um.. okay. Well if there is anything else you need. Don't hesitate to ask me."

"I will sweetie. Are you heading to work? Any plans with Can today?"

"Yes and yes. I'm going to stop by the cafe in town for a bite to eat before work and Can is preparing something for us tonight. Though he won't tell me what it is. He just used the word 'special'."
