Author's Note:
Shout out to Stor1esQu33n for editing this chapter for me. Yes, I know I have a problem ending sentences with a preposition. It's something I excel at. (See what I did there? 😏😆😉)

Y'all ready to read the first grammatically correct chapter? 😁

"Can, are you sure this is the right way?" Sanem drove down a bumpy dirt road and looked around for any paved streets to turn on, but all she saw were trees. "I think we should check the map."

"We don't need a map."

"We've been on this road for thirty minutes and there's nothing. I think we need to turn around."

"I've been to this area before. I know where I'm going."

Sanem exhaled loudly, "I told you we should have asked for directions at the gas station."

"I don't need directions."

"Uh huh..." They had already had this argument twice before and each time left them both more frustrated. Sanem looked once more at the surrounding forest and the sun that was just getting lower and lower in the sky. "At this rate we will arrive after the retreat is over."

"Well if you didn't drive like a grandma, we would be there already."

"Hey, you said I could drive."

"How was I to know you drive like a senior citizen? Did you see how many cars overtook us on the highway?"

"I was going the speed limit, Can. That's what the speed limit is for. To tell you how fast to drive."

"No one goes the speed limit."

"Well they should."

Now it was Can's turn to exhale loudly in frustration.

"Fine. You want to go fast? We'll go fast." Sanem put her foot down on the gas pedal and the car revved to life. The road was pretty muddy and the car fishtailed, but Sanem kept the wheel steady.

Can held onto the frame of the car with one hand and reached over to Sanem with the other, "Sanem. Stop it. Are you trying to kill us?"

"You wanted to go faster."

"On the highway. Sanem. Stop. Before you drive us into a tree." Sanem didn't have much of a choice. They hit a bump and the car creeped to a halt. "That's just great!"

"I think we popped a tire..."

"You think?" Can got out of the car and slammed the door. He walked around the vehicle, kicking the tires as he went. Sanem got out of the driver's side and hopped her way over the mud to the back tire where Can was standing. He had his hands on his hips and let out a long breath, "Let's just get this fixed. Hand me the jack out of the trunk." Sanem continued her hopping around Can, careful not to step in the mud. "You picked a great time to wear white shoes."
