Author's note:
Time to put those pitch forks down and extinguish those torches. I am back from my vacation and what a lovely vacation it was. Thanks for all those well wishes!

I am now back to put us all out of our misery. What I've done is split this chapter's outline into 2 parts (to get it released sooner). So this chapter and the next (that should be ready around Sunday like normal) will be on the shorter side. I figure you all have suffered enough with where I left it. But I think it will have been worth the wait...

Previously:
Sanem could see his struggle. She knew how much he valued honesty. She hated that this was causing him pain. She didn't want to hurt him anymore. "Okay Can. I understand that I am asking a lot of you. So if you tell me to stay, I'll stay. If this is too much for you, and you want me to leave..." Please, please don't tell me to go. "...then I'll leave."

Just the thought of her leaving sent new waves of pain through Can's heart. But he needed time to process this. He had already said things he knew he would regret. His anger was getting beyond his control and he needed to be alone with his thoughts before he did any more damage. He stopped pacing and looked down at his feet. "I think you should go. I need some space."

"Oh..." I really thought he would tell me to stay... "Okay..." Tears were beginning to form and she sniffled. She looked down, trying to hide the hurt shown on her own face. "I'll go then..." She walked away a few steps and then turned around, "Will you call me later?"
He gave a slight nod, but didn't meet her eyes. He just had his hands on his hips and stared at the ground.
Sanem gave him one last look before turning to leave again. I think I lost him. He doesn't trust me. Trust that I have a good reason for keeping a secret. He doesn't trust my words when I say that this secret has nothing to do with my feelings for him. He thinks all I've ever done is lie to him. If he truly believes all that... then I've lost him. Without ever really having him.
She turned again to leave, as the first tear fell.

Osman had driven Sanem to Can's house. Something she remembered when she walked out front. She sighed and began walking. The dark night reflecting how she felt inside. She walked quickly as the tears streamed down her face. No one was around to see her cry now, so she let it all out as she followed the street home.

HONK!

The loud sound startled Sanem so much she stumbled off the paved road and into the dirt. She lost her balance and felt her ankle twist in a way that wasn't natural.

"Oh Sanem! I'm so sorry!" She heard Yusuf's voice calling to her and a car door slam as he got out and ran to her on the side of the street. "Here let me help you up." Yusuf grabbed onto Sanem's elbows and helped her stand.
