I've fought battles
And got rid of hurricanes,
And Storms that have brought
Darkness and fear to a young
Child's eyesSewn up cuts and bruises
Healed broken heart's
And cut noose's
Mended the pain
That is stuck inside,
In one's mindI've tortured villians
With love and kindness
I've showed compassion
I'm always nice an
If you knew me well,
You'd know I've always
Been open-mindedI've set fires
To open shores
I've broken heart's,
Put holes in cores
But that's what you do
When you're a hero
Like SupermanYou help and help
And what do you gain?
A please and a thank you?
Well that should changeYou stay up night to day
Day to night,
Fighting crime,
Till you see the morning lightYou've fought and fought
Looking under people's bed's
Looking in their closet's
To make sure that nothing
Would come out
To hurt themPeople have cried on you,
People have died, on you,
And people have told you,
That you have saved their lifeBecause see,
When that person was stuck
In their bed with the
Blinds closed as they used
Their blanket as a shield
From the worldAnd they curled up into a ball
Hands over their face
While tears dripped down
From their cheeks
Because they were scared
That the person hiding
Underneath their bed,
would take themYou looked under that bed
With your chest up high,
Had it raised to the sky,
And you proceeded to bend
And get on your knees,
The palms of both hands
on the cold hard ground
But underneath,
You didn't see anythingSo Superman began to ponder
And wondered why this person
Would be shaking under the covers
As if they saw death itself
When there was nothing to well,
Be afraid ofYou sat there, and you
Thought and thought when
The person started to yell,
"Superman! I need saving!
Superman! I need saving!"So you pulled back those covers
With all your might and you,
Opened up those blinds
so that person could,
Feel the lightAnd they slowly moved
their hands from,
Over their face and you saw,
Their armsTheir wrists, their thighs,
And you thought to yourself,
Superman how could you be, so blind! You realized that,
You couldn't fight it,
But he could,
You couldn't fight it,
But she could
So you told them,
"Superman, is in you."But he didn't believe it,
She didn't believe it,
So you told them that this
Was going to be hard
You can't fight in one day
And then it'll never come back
Because depression,
Is like a boomerang,
And when you get rid of it,
It will come backSo everyday you checked to see
If that person got out of bed,
You helped them comb their hair
Told them they were worth
Everything in the world
Gave them a cookie and said
You deserve itAnd you did it everyday
Even if it lasted a year,
Or a month,
You wanted to see her,
Stop making those cutsAnd one day it stopped,
She finally did it Superman
She fought him, she fought,
That demon living inside her mind
And he finally fought,
That thing telling him,
He shouldn't be alive
They did itSo what now Superman?
You've fought all these,
Battles and crimes, you've
Saved many lives so,
Tell me why Superman,
Why can I hear you,
Cry at night? Why do you have scars
On your beautiful wrists too?
Those aren't from fighting battles
Those are from fighting demons,
Those are from fighting yourself
Those are from fighting,
Your healthI saw you take those pills,
Superman,
I saw you fall off of that hill,
Superman,
Those pills weren't for you,
To stay awake,
Those pills were for you
To go to sleepTell me Superman,
Who stands by your bed and,
Gives you a treat?
Because that smile on your face
Is just a cry of defeatYou've been beaten,
And hurt, and told that
You didn't know anything,
You can't help anyone with their problemsThey said you were a fraud,
Pretending to save people,
But you couldn't save yourself,
Pretending to save people,
When you needed,
To worry about your mental healthSo please tell me,
Who saves you?
Who saves you Superman?
You've cut all of these
Crooked noose's,
But that was so you,
Could make a bigger noose and
Kill yourselfSuperman,
Is still scared at night,
Superman,
Doesn't want you to,
Turn off the light"Superman ask for help."
"Don't be stupid, ask for help."
I'd ask but, everyone is
Too busy being their own superheroEveryone is too busy trying,
To save their own life,
So do you really think,
That they'd really care about mine? And maybe that's why I do it
Maybe that is why I,
Save people,
I'm hoping karma will hear me
I'm hoping the golden rule
Is real and not,
Some old tale, made by a foolI treat people how I,
Want to be treated,
I saved them, because,
I wanted saving tooIf I saved you maybe,
You could return the favor
Superman,
Superwoman,
Superhero,
Super, I,
Get cold at nightI, am still wiping,
The tears from off my eyes,
I need saving,
Batman save me,
Luther save me,
I don't care who it is,
I just need saving!Because that rope,
Is still dangling around my neck
Like a prize possession,
Like a prize, not to be
Messed withAnd the, S worn on my chest
That everyone thought had meant
Super, Savior, Superior, Savage,
Meant SuicidalAnd that was my biggest,
Cry for helpPlease save me
Because Superman, needs saving too.
