This rollercoaster DOES end happily but I need to know now if you just want a cute ending or an epilogue. I don't usually like the books of mine that I put epilogues in tbh and don't wanna taint my baby. I could do something like the final chapter being sort of an epilogue like my story rich & sad if you've read that. I do have a possibly epilogue planned out but let me know what you guys would like! :)
Tyler and Joshua still sat on the stairs, hands joined and just taking in each other's company.
"As much as I love you and love being with you," Joshua spoke, making Tyler blush. "Do you wanna go somewhere without the chance of your mom coming out here and beating me with a Bible?"
Tyler let out a small laugh. "Sure. I need to go put my shoes on though," he kissed Joshua's cheek without a second thought. "I'll be right back."
Joshua nodded as Tyler got up and went inside, shutting the door behind him.
"No, John, you can't just go against my parenting like that—" his mom was saying as he walked inside and began untying his shoes. "What are you wearing?"
"Joshua's windbreaker."
"Why?"
"He gave it to me to wear."
"Where do you think you're going?"
Tyler didn't look up. "With Joshua. I'll don't know where we're going but I'll be back by seven."
"What—"
Tyler looked up at her. "Does your boyfriend know you slapped me when I called you out for fornicating? Yeah, premarital intercourse. That's a sin. Worse than homosexuality, I believe."
That stopped her from talking.
"Have fun, Tyler," Pastor John spoke up, scratching his chin awkwardly. "Your mom and I have a lot to talk about."
His mother was too in shock to say anything else so Tyler waved at Pastor John before walking back out of the house. "I'm ready," he smiled as Joshua looked up at him.
"Did you ask your mom if you could go?"
"No."
Joshua have him a weird look. "No?"
"No. I told her you'd have me home by seven and left. Let's go."
Joshua blinked before grabbing Tyler's hand. "I don't know who this new you is but I like it."
Tyler shrugged as they walked towards the car and got in. "You tend to not care about most things once you've had the worst week of your life."
Joshua nodded sadly as he shut the door and put his seatbelt on. "I know what you mean."
"Oh," Tyler spoke. "I'm also currently missing my piano lessons because I refused to leave my room until you got here," he realized aloud.
Joshua let out a laugh. "I kinda forgot you had those," he snickered.
Tyler laughed as well. It felt nice to be with Joshua again. "I missed this."
"Me too," Joshua smiled. "I missed my boy."
"I think there are some things we should discuss when we get the opportunity," Tyler told him.
"Of course. Like what?" He asked as he started the car and began driving away from Tyler's house.
"Just um... boundaries I guess. I feel like I didn't let you do what you wanted before and I don't want to be like that. Nothing like sexual but just things you did for fun."
"No offense, Ty," Joshua snorted. "But if I truly wanted to do something I would have done it. Like drinking at the bonfire? I wouldn't have put you in danger like that. I didn't want to do that. But getting high with Brendon? I did it anyway. I know you trust me to make the right choice at the end of the day. I'm stupid but I'm not morally corrupt."
"Morally corrupt..." Tyler hummed. "Your vocabulary's improved. I'm impressed."
Joshua laughed and the sound was like music to Tyler's ears. "If you still want to have that talk we can but I thought we were pretty solid and understood those kind of things with each other."
"Well there's also the sexual side of it that I did want to bring up..."
It was silent for a second. "Okay..."
Tyler looked down at his feet. "Um... obviously I'm still not comfortable with going all the way and I think I'll always want to wait until marriage but if you want to do more things like we did the one day..." he paused, waiting for Joshua to nod in understanding. "I'm okay with that. And I don't want it to seem like you always have to do it for me. There's two sides to the relationship."
Joshua smiled. "Okay. I'm not gonna force you into anything but if the chance presents itself we can talk about it."
Tyler smiled as well. "Okay."
Joshua grabbed his hand and rubbed it with his thumb.
"Where are we going?" Tyler asked.
Joshua glanced over and blushed. "I have no clue."
Tyler laughed at that. "You don't know?"
"No," Joshua chuckled. "I just started driving. Do you wanna get Wendy's and hang out in my room?"
"I don't have any money."
"That's okay," Joshua assured. "I like treating you."
Tyler's smile dropped. "That's one of the things I would like to talk about."
"How come?"
"You're always spending money on me and that's not very fair."
"Baby it's okay," Joshua replied. "If I didn't want to I wouldn't offer to."
Tyler sighed. "I know but I never spend it on you. It's not equal."
"Your mom isn't very happy with you right now I don't think she's going to give you money or allow you to get a job any time soon."
"Yeah..." Tyler trailed off sadly.
"Fuck your mom. She has no reason to not be happy with you," Joshua added. "Not like fuck your mom because that's gross and John's already doing that—"
"Ew," Tyler giggled.
"—but you know what I mean. I like that you're sticking up to her as long as it's not too disrespectful. A little bit of disrespect is okay."
Tyler laughed at that. "If you want to get lunch and go to your house I wouldn't mind it. I just feel bad."
"Don't."
It was silent for a moment but it was a comfortable silence. Tyler really didn't know what he had until it was gone. He never wanted to break up with Joshua again. If they had to end their relationship he wanted Joshua to make that call. It was only fair.
"Joshua?" Tyler spoke up, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, baby?"
"I love you."
"I love you too."
