38. Winner

Today has been really rough for me so I'm putting out another chapter because I write when I'm stressed. I'm sorry if this is overboard.

When Tyler got in the car after school on Thursday his mom was in a surprisingly good mood.

"Hi, sweetie," she smiled as he got in and shut the door.

"Hi...?"

"Don't be rude."

"I'm not trying to be. I'm sorry," he apologized, not really meaning it. "Why are you in such a pleasant mood?"

Kelly's smile returned. "I had enough hours in this week so I took the rest of today off. John and I are going to a movie at four and then out to dinner."

Tyler nodded. "Can Joshua come over...?" He asked hesitantly.

"Sure."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I don't mind. I trust him."

Tyler smiled. "Okay. Thank you."

The ride home was silent and as soon as they got home Tyler went to his room and sat on his bed. He had Joshua's number but he didn't know what kind of mood his boyfriend was in so he went to Snapchat and messaged Joshua.

Tyler
Come over.

Joshua
No please for me baby?

Tyler
Come over.

Joshua
Is ur mom going out?

Tyler
Yes.

Tyler
Come over.

Joshua
Got it

Joshua
What time?

Tyler
Four.

Joshua

Tyler smiled and set his phone down, going to his desk and starting his homework.

Close to four, he got another text.

Joshua
Have u ever played Uno?

Tyler
No. What's that?

Joshua
It's a card game. I'll bring it and teach u

Tyler

Tyler rolled his eyes with a smile.

Hurry up my mother is leaving soon.

He set his phone back down and finished his homework.
