I'm so sad thinking about this story being over :( Thank you for reading you guys, it means the world. I'm not done writing though so make sure to check out my other stories and stay tuned for a new one

Tyler let out a huff, running his hand through his hair one more time. His eyes narrowed behind his (just cleaned) glasses as he stared his reflection down. He didn't think he looked good enough.

He was wearing a plain black and white suit from a church banquet he went to last fall and a red tie. Joshua hadn't said anything specific, just to wear a red tie.

Tyler ran his hand through his hair yet again. Someone cleared their throat behind him and jumped. Turning around, he was met face to face with his mother leaning against the doorway. "You're going to go bald if you keep messing with your hair like that," she spoke.

Tyler dropped his hands. "I'm sorry."

Kelly sighed and walked towards him, tangling her fingers through his hair one last time. "There."

Tyler glanced at the ground. "Thank you."

"You look very handsome," she straightened the collar of his dress shirt out.

"Thank you," he repeated.

His mom stared at him for a moment before pulling him in for a hug. "I'm very proud of you," she said, rubbing his back slightly. He heard her sniffle and she pulled back to look at him. There were tears in her eyes. "It's so weird to see you going to your first dance. A public school at dance. I know your school doesn't have them so it's nice to see you going with Josh," she smiled, laughing gently.

Tyler smiled. "It's nice to see me going to a dance with my boyfriend?" He clarified, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, honey," she sighed. "I'm sorry for how I've been making you feel. John had to have a long talk with me and put things in a different perspective to understand it. But now I do and all I want is for you to be happy. If Josh makes you happy then I don't have a problem with you guys being together. I just need to be able to trust you."

"You can," Tyler assured.

"I'm not saying you have to tell me everything that happens between you guys but I want you to make good choices."

"I will."

His mom smiled and rubbed his shoulder. "I know. You always have. I love you, Tyler."

"I love you too, Mother."

The two made their way downstairs just as the doorbell rang. Tyler the took the liberty of opening it and he saw Joshua, his eyes widening as he did so.

He looked so handsome. His brown curls were styled perfectly and his glasses perched gently on his nose. He was also wearing a black and white suit but he had a red bow tie instead of a regular tie.

Tyler glanced down and saw a red boutonniere in a box that matched the one on Joshua's suit perfectly.

Apparently Joshua had been checking Tyler out too because he let out a sound of adoration. "You look so beautiful, Ty," Joshua spoke in awe.

Tyler smiled and blushed. "Thank you, Joshua. You look very nice yourself," he stepped aside to let his boyfriend in. "Come inside."

Joshua walked in and smiled awkwardly at Kelly. "Hi, Mrs. Joseph."

"Hi, Josh," she smiled back. "Is it alright if I take a few pictures of you two before you leave?"

Tyler gave her a confused look. "You want to document this?" He asked.
