"Tyler?"

The mentioned looked up from his book. It was the week after Joshua had taken him to practice and he hadn't seen him since. Sure, they've texted but Joshua had been busy all week and Tyler was really missing his boyfriend.

His mom stood in the doorway dressed nicely. "Yeah?" He asked.

"John is taking me out to dinner. I don't want you staying home alone at night. Pack a bag."

"What? Why?"

"Laura's invited you to dinner and to stay the night with Josh. I figured you should go since I'm good friends with Laura and Josh is like your best friend."

Tyler held back a snort.

Then he realized.

"Wait, you're letting me spend the night with Joshua? We have church tomorrow morning."

"I know. Laura said she'd make sure he gets you up in time for it."

Tyler was in genuine shock.

"Don't just sit there," she scolded. "Pack a bag. Josh will be here in ten minutes."

She walked out of the room and Tyler leapt up, grabbing his backpack from last year and filling it with things he knew he'd need.

As soon as he made sure he had everything from his bathroom, he zipped his bag up and got his shoes and jacket on. He waited there patiently until the doorbell rang. As soon as it did, he hurried down the steps and saw his mom opening the door for Joshua.

"Hi, Josh," she greeted, plastering on a fake smile.

"Hey, Mrs. Joseph," Joshua grinned. His smile only grew when he saw Tyler. "Hey, Tyler."

"Hi," Tyler smiled back.

"Remember, have him at the church by eight, okay?"

"Gotcha," he nodded, turning back to Tyler. "Want me to take your bag?"

Tyler forced himself not to blush as he handed Joshua his bag.

"Bye, Tyler. Call me if you need to."

"Bye, Mother," he replied quickly, following Joshua out to his car.

As soon as they were in the vehicle with the doors shut, Tyler turned to Joshua with a wide smile on his face. "How— what—"

"My mom knows we're dating. She told me she's had a soft spot for you ever since she's met you. She thinks your mom is crazy."

Tyler let out a laugh. "So she just arranged for me to stay over?"

"Pretty much. I may or may not have asked her to talk to your mom, though. I haven't seen my boy in a week and I wanted to cuddle with you."

"I really want to kiss you but I know my mother is watching us through the window," Tyler sighed.

"Soon," Joshua smiled sadly. "We can do whatever we want as soon as we get to my house."

Tyler relaxed in his seat and Joshua made his way to his house. As soon as they were out of Tyler's neighborhood, Joshua grabbed his hand.

It turned out, Joshua didn't live more than ten minutes from Tyler so they made it there fairly quick. Joshua parked and got out, grabbing Tyler's bag and leading him up to the door.

He opened it and as soon as they stepped inside Tyler was greater with a loud bark. He jumped and glanced down to see Joshua petting a dog.

"Hey, Jimmy! I just saw you," he laughed out, scratching behind the dog's ear. "This is Tyler. Are you gonna be a good boy to him? If you're a good boy you get a treat."
