The past two weeks went by rather quickly. This is the day. The day the trio of sorcerers arrives.

But the last two weeks have been some of my finest days ever! After all, becoming the school's most popular guy's girlfriend is every girl's dream. Alright, so maybe Clarence hasn't formally asked me yet, but he will. I'm hoping.

However, I sat with him at lunch last week. Kelly nearly shoved me toward Clarence when he approached her with an invitation since she was so happy about it. Kelly, that weird best buddy of mine. She believes that she is "popular by affiliation" with me and that I am "popular by association" with Clarence, which makes her happy. I won't break her bubble by pointing out that she's still not liked by anyone.

Ethan detests our connection, even if Kelly thinks it's great. He only allows me to sit with Clarence at lunch, I believe, because he believes that if I skip out, Clarence will join us. Furthermore, Ethan detests "Clarence" much more than "Clarence with me," assuming that makes sense. All I can hope is that my friendship with Ethan stays intact. He's my best buddy, though. Shouldn't Clarence simply accept that I like him?

The good news is that I got to meet The Four again! There's Janice (who threatens to murder me if I call her Janie), Benjamin (who goes by Benjy), and Amelia (who goes by Amy). Amy looks incredibly good, as does Benjy. They never leave each other's sides, making them the prettiest pair I have ever seen! However, Janice? She glares at me constantly, and I haven't heard her speak more than three words. It's beginning to feel like she despises me. However, do you recall this line about the positive side?

In the past two weeks, my social standing has also greatly increased. Now that I'm hanging out with Clarence, people start chatting with me in the hallways, and no one calls me the girl who's incredibly talented at painting. Many are now referring to The Five and myself as The Four.

And there's the fact that Clarence comes to school every single minute he can. Every time his hand touches me, I feel as though I'm receiving an electrical jolt. Sometimes it may be embarrassing—I get a heart attack when he tucks a strand of hair behind my ear.

In summary, though, things could not get any better.

I read the last paragraph I made in my journal again. I suddenly realized something. My life will likely collapse very soon if it continues improving at this rate. I was long overdue for a catastrophe to strike to provide some balance to my life—after all, life is fair.

With that knowledge, I sighed and closed my book. I hastily grabbed my backpack, exited my bedroom, went downstairs, and closed the door. Like every time, I got into my sister's white van and sat beside Ethan while the others got in. The sun shone brightly in the morning, and as it struck my crystal necklace, rainbow spots reflected into the automobile.

"Hey Noe-Noe, guess what Megan heard this morning?" Natalie said, referring to my obnoxious moniker.

"What?" I questioned, not listening. After everyone had entered, Lindsey left the driveway and started her journey towards the school.

Before Megan stated, "Clarence is going to ask you to be his girlfriend today," I heard the twins shriek.

It was Clarence's name that drew my interest. "Really?" I jerked my head around to ask Megan.

They shrieked again, and this time Lindsey and I joined in, saying, "Yep, he took long enough."

"Folks, I wish we could go on a vehicle journey without having to listen to the stupid name Clarence," moaned Ethan.

"Someone is envious," Megan jokingly said.

"I am not!" Ethan said as he pulled out his MP3 player and inserted the headphones into his ears.

After chuckling, I took one of Ethan's headphones. On the walk to school, we listened to his intriguing blend of heavy metal and folk music. I had already forgotten the entire jealousy statement by that point.
