A Question from a Mortal

'Kaalatit' seemed to be a little bit concerned with the question. He thought of something for some long moments while touching his forehead with two fingers; then he opened his eyes, looked back at Ashtabasu and said-

-"Your question is simple, yet complicated. Do not mind Ashtabasu, but your brain is... aah...relatively homogeneous and simple yet. The question you asked not so simple; though I would like to answer in a simple manner, okay?

Any change in any part of the timeline means a rapid change in the whole timeline. Let's get straight to the point that, no, we can't make any changes to the timeline, nor can't we recreate past into it. We are not authorized to make any changes in the timeline. Why?

We are surrounded by an infinite cosmos. Infinite its range, huge its vastness! It has hidden wonders of its own in every layer, and time is the only unit of measurement to scale the cosmos. This theory eventually puts Mathematics a step backward; it is just a mode of communication and nothing more.

In some other theory, time is like the streamline in the river that flows forward. But this streamline does not stop after reaching a certain end, it turns back and heads for the source from where it is originated. It acts as a loop, completing a whole circle and it is continuing its motion. That is why a complete set of life, which holds a complete set of different life-forms inside, less or more is known as 'Life-circle'.

Now, this isn't a true notion that this loop consists of a single linear thread; this streamline of time may consist of a single major thread, along with multiple minor threads in it. The main thread there we refer to as the present continuous thread, a pile of events those are actually taking place and will result in something in future. Let me explain.

For instance, you are invited to a Banquet. There, you are requested to have some sweetmeats. You are having them, this is present. and this caused you a stomachache later at the night, this is future. This is the consequence and possible outcome of the action that you committed in the present. The guideline is prepared in the present, a stomachache for Ashtabasu in the forthcoming future. Right?

But what if, you are refusing the sweetmeats? In that case, you could never have suffered from stomachache. That means, there is an alternate future to the actual possibility; a new future where Ashtabasu never had the sweetmeats and there is no stomachache due to that action! This is eventually another alternate part of the timeline.

Wait! There are still some more possible alternatives. You took all the sweetmeats in your house and you ate them there. You distributed these sweetmeats among your neighbors. You ate them all alone but there is no stomachache. All these possible sets of fragmented memories are part of the complete chain of present continuous with multiple joints in it; any of these fragmented sub-memories will be turned into action, which in turn will create a result. Together, they shall form a reality, our real world. Rest of the possibilities with consecutive possible outcomes will create a set of parallel worlds with different calculations for it.

Here goes the last possible explanation of this theory to make the explanation simpler. A long time ago when we set foot on your planet, this world was dominated by lizards, big, massive, giant reptiles to be specific. Back in those days, we never used to travel across time. Soon we discovered that these reptiles are immune to any further modification; with their thick and large skull along with the tiny grey matter inside, they are incapable of to be tuned up further to an intelligent species in the process. On the other hand, their presence on Earth was a potential threat to the survival of your kind; you along with your precursor race. So, we had to take an aggressive decision; we had to eliminate all those giant reptiles. They had to go! We preserved their body cells before their mass destruction, and soon, we wiped out their species.

Now, if we get back to the past and stop this total annihilation of giant reptiles, then how comes you exist today in your timeline? You would have been never found throughout in History and eventually, there is no intelligent species on Earth, whether it is your kind or the different one. Did you understand the point that I wish to explain now?

Each and every event in the timeline is interrelated with each other. Together they constitute a chain. Each and every joint is a part of that complete chain and any change into any part of it will cause a rapid change in the whole timeline. This could be the endgame of your kind, and possibly ours, perhaps. "

-"But Bhagban!" – Ashtabasu cried out – "Warning the next-gen with a tale depicting the errors made in the past – this seems to be a change in the timeline too! Isn't that going to make any-"

-"No, it won't. It will incite the possible alternate outcomes to step forward, which is residing as a fragment in the alternate realities now. Well, Ashtabasu, we had detailed calculation of what possible alternates the tale will bring forth; what good or harm it may bring upon the humankind and what it won't. I can take the responsibility and confirm that the tale, which is yet to come out in the daylight will make an impact far more than you can imagine. It is better not to sabotage the effort and you should be immediately thinking about it. "

It took some time for them to understand the scenario, though none of the visitors could understand everything that was said; the words of 'All-in-all Kaalatit' was foggy, mysterious and hard to swallow. Yet, they were able to grasp the gist of this whole speech – Maharshi Valmiki is assigned to a task of creating an epic tale, and they have to assist him in creating this.

-"May we have your permission then, Bhagban?" – Maharshi Valmiki stood up and asked. Rest of them acted accordingly.

-"Feel free to visit us anytime you want for any kind of assistance."- 'All-in-all' replied – "Another thing, Maharshi Valmiki; 'Kaalatit' is not my name. It is a program, a mission, an organization dedicated to a just cause."

-"I will remember that, Bhagban! What should I call you then?"

-"My name is Vishnudev. Pardon me, I have to leave now; there is an emergency call that I must attend to urgently. Maharshi Markendeya!"
