Chapter 17: Home

I'm in the girl's lavatory, crying my eyes out. I hate myself so so much right now. I have been f*cking stupid and now Snape is gone.

"What are you crying for?" Moaning Myrtle asks me, as if I needed that annoying creature disturbing me right now.

"Shut up!" I yell at her and now, of course, she's offended. I can't deal with her right now so I dry my tears and get out of the lavatory.

I see Chris in the corridors and I'm trying to walk past him but he stops me.

"Are you okay?" he asks.

"Well, what do you think?"

"You know, if you need anyone to talk to, I'm always here for you", he says.

"There's nothing to talk about really. Yes, I was dating Snape but then we broke up and now my heart is broken and now everyone knows, and they took him away!"

He hugs me and says that everything's gonna be okay. I'm not sure if I believe him but whatever.

Suddenly Dumbledore is approaching us in the corridor and yelling my name. He doesn't seem mad, more like worried.

"Y/N, we thought it would be best for you to take a few days off so I can have enough time to hush this all up", he says and puts his hand on my shoulder. "Now, get ready to leave in 15 minutes. Do you think you can manage that?"

"Yes, professor", I say and look at Chris apologetically. "I gotta go. See ya."

I pack my things and then Dumbledore walks me out of the school. When I see Draco in the corridors, I say to him: "This is war."

Because I have already planned something for him.

Everything happens so quickly. Dumbledore takes me home and we don't talk much on our way, then he's gone and I'm standing in front of my house.

This feels so weird and... wrong. I shouldn't be here now, I should be at Hogwarts, in the potions class, perhaps with professor Snape...

Our house looks the same as always. Cheap red brick house with two storeys and a tiny but beautiful garden. Dumbledore called my parents so they finished their work early and now they're waiting for me inside. They're both working in a bank, sorting out papers and arguing with their clients all day. Such a boring job. I hope I'll never have to work in that kind of a lame place.

I take a deep breath, walk to the door and knock it. Mom opens it quickly, and when I see her I can't really read her face.

"Hello, mom", I say.

"Oh, darling, come here", she says and gives me a big hug. I can feel something in her has changed. She's not the same she was before, but oh well, to be honest, neither am I.

She takes me to the living room where I sit down next to dad. His face is serious but not angry, which is a relief.

"Did Dumbledore tell you everything?" I ask them nervously.

"Yes, he did. You've been having an affair with one of your teachers, professor Snape", mom says and takes a look at dad.

"We broke up anyways", I mutter.

"Honey, we don't judge you", dad says and gives me a little smile. "Love is always good. I mean, if you really are in love with him? Or were...?"

"I... I guess I'm still in love with him", I stutter. "I thought you were going to hate me for loving him... I mean considering his age and all..."

"Yeah, we were shook at first but after thinking about it we don't see it as a problem", mom says, smiling.

"Thank you guys so much", I say, almost crying because I'm so moved. "The whole school is talking about me behind my back right now so your support means so much."

"Of course." Mom hugs me again. Dad smiles but he seems pretty nervous. I can see they're both stressing over something, but I can't tell what it is until dad finally decides to tell me.

"See, darling, there's something in our life right now that we should talk about with you. Since you've been away we haven't been able to discuss it trough with you..."

"Well, what is it?" I ask, my heart beating really fast. "What is it?"
