Today is the day. I'm gonna marry the love of my life. I wonder what's gonna happen. After my divorce with Ayesha, I never thought I would find love again, until I met y/n. She was my light and showed me there's more to love than materialistic things. It's how the person shapes your life, how they affect you, and how they help you. That's why I'm marrying her.
"Hey, man," Klay says, coming up behind me. He puts his hand on my shoulder. "You ready?" He asks.
I smile, thinking about how she'll look walking down the aisle. She's always beautiful to me, even in her worst moments, but I've always imagined what she'll look like walking down the aisle wearing that white dress everyone is anticipating to see.
"Yeah," I say getting up. I grab my tie and tie it around my neck. "Thanks for being my best man again," I tell Klay.
"Yeah, no problem, Steph," he says. "Besides, I didn't think you and Ayesha would have lasted anyway. You loved her, but she didn't. It was all one sided."
It really was. Ayesha wanted that lavish life, but I wanted to keep her out of it for her safety. It didn't work out that way.
"And with you and y/n, you guys love each other. You fit perfectly," Klay continues.
"Thanks, man," I reply. We fist-bump each other as we finish getting ready. We then walk out to the ceremony to meet with the groomsmen (dray, Andre, and Zaza).

I look at myself in the mirror and think as my mom does my hair. Does Stephen really wanna marry me?
"Yes, he does," I hear my mom say. I look at her surprised. "You were thinking out loud, baby," she clarifies, chuckling.
I blush. "Oh," I say. "Sorry, I'm just really nervous."
"It's okay, baby." My mom smiles at me. "I know how it feels. I still wonder why your father wanted to marry my crazy ass after 33 years."
I laugh at her comment. "There's that smile Stephen fell in love with," she says.
We smile at each other as she finishes my hair. Hair-
