Abby and Darius have been dating for about 8 months now. Things have been going very well. Abby goes to his games for support when she can, and Darius returns the favor by visiting her at her work. They've never been happier together.
Tonight, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a home game against the Brooklyn Nets. Abby was walking around Barclays Center, trying to find Darius to greet him and wish him luck before the game. She bumps into a very large body. And said large body grabs her arms so she doesn't fall. "Oh," says a male voice. "I'm so sorry about that."
Abby shakes her head. "No, it's okay," she replies. She lets out a chuckle, still not looking up at the guy who bumped into her.
"Are you okay?" the guys asks worriedly.
Abby nods. "Yeah, I'm alright," she says. She finally looks up to see who bumped into her and lays her eyes on someone she never thought she'd see again. Kyrie Irving... "Kyrie?" she says, surprised. Why am I so surprised? The Cavs are playing the Nets tonight, she thought to herself.
Kyrie lets out a sigh. "Yeah," he replies.
Abby blinks, still not believing her eyes. "W-what are you doing here?" she asks.
"Well, I have a game against the-"
She cuts him off. "I know that, but what are you doing HERE?" she asks, referring to the current hallway they're standing in.
Kyrie realizes what she means. "Oh, right," he replies. "Well, I'm just walking around the old arena, getting a feel of it again. Then, I turn around, and there you are."
Abby sighs, remembering what he did to her. She remembers the cheating, the lying, all of it. It's all coming back to her as she's looking at him. She remembers the slump she was in after she walked in on Kyrie making out with another girl on his couch. Then, she met Darius, and everything was okay again.
Kyrie sighs. "Look, I've been doing a lot of thinking this past year. I want to apologize for what I did to you." Abby scoffs and rolls her eyes at him. Kyrie shakes his head. "No, c'mon, hear me out. I miss you. Not a second goes by that I regret cheating on you. I want you to know that I love you, and I need you in my life. So, will you take me back? I promise that I'll make it right this time," he concludes.
Abby gives an angry look. She shakes her head. "No," she says. "I'm sorry, Kyrie, but I can't."
Kyrie sighs. "Can you give me a good reason why?" he asks.
Abby smirks at him. "I have a boyfriend," she replies. Kyrie gives her a stunned look. "It's the reason why I'm here, I'm here to support him in the game."
Kyrie gives her a dirty look. "Who is he?" he asks, even though he knows who her boyfriend is.
"Darius Garland." Kyrie scoffs at her answer. "Oh, don't act like you don't know who he is."
Kyrie then gets annoyed. "C'mon, him?" Abby nods at him. "Why Garland?"
Now, it's Abby's turn to give him a dirty look. "Because he treats me right. Not the way you did for two years." She stands her ground, she is NOT letting a man get her priorities twisted.
Kyrie scoffs. "C'mon, I said I was sorry."
Abby rolls her eyes. "That's not enough. If I'm being honest, I do forgive your apology," Kyrie face lights up a little, "but I can never forget what you did. We were together for a year and a half, yet you spent all that time doing things to hurt our relationship instead of fixing it." She sighs.
