For _abba_dabba_ (A/N- I'm having this story take place when quarantine first started)

COVID-19 has officially taken over the United States, and quarantine has been rough on everyone. The lockdown has been going on for almost four months with hopes of a new vaccine, and it has taken a huge toll on a lot of people, mentally. For Ben and his girlfriend, Abby, they had moved into a new house just before quarantine hit and got pretty busy (if you can catch my drift).

That was two months ago. It is now March, and the entire country is on lockdown. Abby and Ben are now fully settled in their house just in time for quarantine. Their dogs are also settled and are just enjoying themselves.

However; one morning, Abby woke up feeling sick to her stomach. She rips Ben's arm from around her waist before jumping out of bed and runs to the bathroom. She leans over to the toilet and throws up last night's dinner. Ben woke up when she ripped his arm and fully wakes up when he hears her throwing up. He gets out of bed and heads to the bathroom. He goes behind her and pulls her hair back.

Ben starts rubbing her back. "You okay, babes?" he says.

Abby stops throwing up and groans as he flushes the toilet for her. "Yeah, I think I just have a stomach bug," she says.

Ben looks at her concerned. "Are you sure?" She nods at him as he helps her back on her feet. "Okay, baby." They then start their morning routine. He looks at Abby. "I'm gonna go downstairs and make some breakfast."

Abby shakes her head. "It's okay. I can make breakfast."

Ben smiles at her. "No, I insist. You relax today." He kisses her cheek before heading downstairs.

~Two Weeks Later~

Abby was still having the morning sickness. They ended up narrowing it down to COVID-19 since one of the symptoms is vomiting. Fortunately, Abby and Ben's test came back negative. They started narrowing down more symptoms. One thing Abby did notice, however, was that her period was late. So, they decided it was the best option to go to the doctors.

Which is where they are now. They step out of the car with their masks on and head inside. Once they get inside, they get their temperature taken, and Abby checks in while Ben sits in the waiting room. She goes to sit next to Ben once she finishes filling out the papers she needed. He goes to rub her knee, comfortingly. "You feelin' okay, babe?" he asks her.

Abby adjusts her mask so she can breathe better. "Yeah," she replies. "I just hope nothing's wrong."

Ben grabs her hand and rubs the back of it with his thumb. "Hey, everything's gonna be fine, okay?" She nods at him.

Then, the nurse calls her in, and they both head to the exam room. The nurse checks her height and weight. "The doctor will be with you in a moment," she says.

They nod at her and thank her as she closes the door. Abby pulls her mask down to breath for a bit, and Ben does the same but leaves his hanging on his ear. He rubs her knee to comfort her. "Everything's gonna be fine," he tells her.

The door then pushes open, and they immediately put their masks on correctly. The doctor comes in and smiles at them through her face shield and mask. "Hello," she greets them.

They smile back at her. "Hi," they reply.

"I'm Dr. Alexander," she says. "I'll be your doctor today." She keeps a safe distance from them and looks at Abby. "So, what seems to be the problem, today?"

Abby takes a deep breath. "Well, for the past couple weeks, I've been throwing up a lot," she starts. "And my period has been late. We've been watching the symptoms and making sure it wasn't COVID."

Dr. Alexander nods as she listens to Abby. "Okay, that's good that you've been checking your symptoms before coming here." She thinks for a second. "What about your cravings? How have they been for the last couple weeks?"

Abby thinks back. "I've been eating more than I usually do, lately."

Dr. Alexander now has some idea as to what's happening. "Okay, I think we're gonna run some tests." She turns to the table behind her and grabs a cup. "Can you pee in this for me?"

Abby looks confused but nods anyway. "Okay." She goes to the bathroom and comes back a few minutes later with the cup filled up halfway. She hands it to Dr. Alexander.

Dr. Alexander smiles at her as she takes the cup. "Perfect. I'll be back in a few minutes."

Ben and Abby nod and say 'thank you' as she walks out. Abby lets out a deep exhale as she sits back on the exam bed. "What do you think is wrong?" she asks him.

Ben gives her a look as he stands up. "Nothing," he says, going to stand in front of her. "There's nothing wrong. It's probably just a stomach bug." He kisses her forehead.

A few minutes later, Dr. Alexander returns with a joyful look on her face. "Well, good news-there's nothing serious," she says. Ben and Abby sigh in relief. "I have more news, though."

Abby looks confused. "What is it?" she asks.

Dr. Alexander looks through her files. "You're pregnant." Ben and Abby look at her shocked, no words coming to mind. "Congratulations!"

Abby holds back tears and looks at Ben, who was actually smiling behind his mask. "Are you mad?"

Ben looks at her and shakes his head. "No, of course not." He takes her hand in his. "This is huge, mamas." He pulls their masks down to give her a sweet kiss as Abby lets a few tears fall.

Dr. Alexander smiles at them. "I'm so happy for you two." She puts the folder down and turns to Abby. "Okay, Abby, I'm gonna prescribe you some prenatal vitamins and something to help with the morning sickness, which is safe for pregnant women. And I'll also recommend you to an OBGYN so that you can schedule an ultrasound, okay?"

Abby nods, excitement running through her veins. "Sounds good," she says.

Dr. Alexander smiles at them. "Alright, I'll go ahead and get right on that." With that, she exits the exam room and gives them their space.

Abby looks at Ben as she pulls her mask down. "We're having a baby," she says.

Ben holds back tears as he pulls his mask down. "We're gonna have a baby." He cups her face in his big hands and wipes away the tears that fell.

Abby puts her hand on his. "Are you happy?"

Ben chuckles. "Yeah, of course I am." He puts his hands on her stomach. "We're going this backwards, but if I'm being honest, I wouldn't want it any other way."

Abby smiles at him. "Really?"

Ben nods. "Really." He softly rubs her still small belly. "I'm gonna take care of both of you. I'm gonna be here every step of the way."

A few more tears fall down her face as she smiles at him. "I love you, Benjamin."

He smiles at her. "I love you so much more, Abby." They meet for a sweet kiss before finally leaving the exam room.

Guess quarantine isn't so bad, after all.

Here you go, Abby!!

I'm sorry it's so late!! My laptop crashed, and I couldn't even turn it on. I tried to write this out on my phone, but it was a little harder than I expected.

Anyway, I hope you liked it!!
