The World Series. It was the one game every baseball player dreams of. Some will win one, many, sometimes even none (unfortunately).
For the Los Angeles Dodgers, though they won many titles, it was a long time coming since their last one.
It was top of the Ninth inning. Dodgers were leading the Rays 3-1 with two outs. Julio was preparing to throw the next pitch as he waited for Austin's signal. Y/N was sitting between Mady and a very pregnant Mariana, tightly gripping both of their hands as they watched. "C'mon," Y/N mumbles under her breath.
Austin gives Julio the signal. Then, it was like everything was in slow motion as the ball left Julio's hand. The entire stadium blew up in cheers once Austin got up from his position. The team ran from the dugout and their positions on the field to gather in a huge celebration at the pitcher's mound.
Y/N, Mady, and Mariana were hugging and celebrating with the other WAGs. "Our boys did it!" Mady exclaims.
Y/N sighs in relief. "They for real did the damn thing," she says.
"AFTER 32 YEARS, THE DODGERS ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!!"
Y/N hugs everyone around the section as it was filled with cheers and hugs. Then, she hears her name being called. She turns around and sees Cody standing there with the gray shirt on. She smiles and walks up to him, pulling down her mask. "You did it, baby!" she says to him as he squats down in front of her.
Cody smiles down at her. "And I have you to thank," he says, making her blush a little bit as she leans closer to him. "I couldn't have done this without you, babe." They meet in the middle for a kiss through the netting. "I love you."
She smiles up at him. "I love you, too, Cods." They kiss again before Cody has to go back and take the team photo.
Later, all the wives, girlfriends, and family members are led to the field. Y/N runs straight into Cody's arms. He laughs as he catches her and spins her in a circle. "Congratulations, baby!" she mumbles into his neck.
They bring their heads back to look at each other. He had a huge smile on his face as he holds her. "I love you so much."
She smiles at him. "I love you so much more." They meet for a passionate kiss. Y/N hears a camera click next to them but lets it be. She was too excited to care at the moment.
He puts her down on her feet after pulling away from the kiss. "Man, who knew 2020 would be the year I bring home a championship?" he ponders. Y/N laughs at his statement as he pulls her in for a hug.
They go stand in front of the stage (six feet apart from everyone-obviously). Cody had his arms wrapped around her shoulders as they watch Corey Seager accept the MVP award. He presses a sweet kiss to her forehead. "I love you," he says. "Thank you supporting me."
Y/N smiles back up at him. "Always, Cody," she says. "I gotchu." They meet for a sweet kiss and watch the rest of the ceremony.
Cody ends up getting interviewed as they prepared for the champagne shower in the locker room. "Cody, you must feel so many emotions going on, right now. How does it feel to finally bring home a World Series ring?" Alanna asks.
Cody lets out an exhale. "Uh, it feels unbelievable right now. I feel like we succeeded immensely as a team, and with the year that we've had, we definitely needed a big highlight to end the season."
"Your dad won the World Series with the Angels. You won the little league World Series with your dad as your coach. Now, your dad is in the stands watching you accept your ring. How does it feel to carry on the legacy and win the World Series?" she asks.
"It feels amazing. I definitely have him to thank for this. Without him pushing me so hard, I wouldn't be here today," he answers, Y/N watching on the sidelines.
"And this is a very different win for everybody, with the season starting so late and being shortened. What has kept you sane with the season coming to an end?"
Cody chuckles and points his thumb at Y/N. "She's standing behind me, right now. Y/N gave me a piece of something normal and has helped me in the bubble. Just her being there for me has helped me, a lot." Y/N lets out a quiet giggle in the back.
The interview finishes from there, and Cody walks back over to Y/N. She smiles up at him. "Did you mean what you said back there?" she asks.
Cody nods at her. "Yeah. You helped me through a lot. Who knows where I'd be without you keeping me grounded." She smiles up at him. "Thank you for being there for me."
Y/N blushes and stands on her toes to reach him better. "Of course. I'm always here for you." She wraps her arms around his neck. "I love you."
Cody smiles down at him. "I love you, too, babe." They meet for a passionate kiss, earning cheers from the rest of the team. They pull away and shake their heads at them. Cody looks at her. "Let's go celebrate."
They walk hand-in-hand to the huge crowd and celebrate with everyone else.

Sorry this one is so short!! I've been having so much writers block lately, it's not even funny. I've also been so busy spending time with my family since I do have to go back to campus in a few days. Don't you guys worry, though, because I have so many to come out in the next few days. I promise that this time.
Also, I wanna get everyone's opinion on this. How do you feel about today's events at capital hill? Be honest, I'm open to all opinions.
