“Hey.” Stiles says, softly as he walks into Derek’s loft. Derek is reading over some papers that Stiles had brought him yesterday. The rest of the pack was out gallivanting around, so it was just the Alpha and Stiles.

“Hey.” Derek says back in the same soft tone. Derek smiles softly at the human that has somehow managed to worm his way in the world of werewolves, and into Derek’s life. Stiles drops his keys on the table, and throws himself on Derek’s sofa.

“Are you able to use those?” Stiles asks, referring to the research he did. Derek makes a humming noise, and Stiles smiles at him. Derek grabs a blanket with one of his free hands and throws it to Stiles. “Thanks.” Stiles says, and Derek raises his head in acknowledgement.

Derek steals a glance at Stiles who is stretching himself out on Derek’s sofa, and he smiles softly to himself. Derek likes that Stiles has made his loft his new hang out. He knows that Scott doesn’t like when Stiles spends time at Derek’s, and he likes that Stiles still comes here anyway. “Are you tired?” Derek asks, to start a conversation. He finds it difficult to talk to Stiles sometimes because the silence they share is comforting enough.

“Little bit. Scott kept me up trying to find out some stuff about witches. Plus, college is kicking my ass.” Stiles says, and Derek smiles softly. Stiles sits up so that he can look at Derek with a soft smile on his face, and Derek returns the look.

“Pizza?” Derek asks, putting the papers down. Stiles grins wide at him before reaching for his phone.

            “You read my mind, dude.”

Derek doesn’t know what’s happening to him. He cannot get Stiles out of his mind, and it is eating him alive from the inside out. He often thinks about Stiles, but it was mostly on a different basis. Stiles used to plague his thoughts because Derek often worried about how Scott’s pack will interfere with his. He knows he has the loyalty of Boyd, Erica, and Isaac but he has always wanted Stiles in his pack.

Derek knows he cannot ask Stiles to leave Scott’s because one thing he admires about Stiles is his loyalty. Derek also knows that these feelings he has develop for Stiles are no longer as platonic as he wants them to be. He isn’t sure of how Stiles feels, but Derek is going to keep his feelings to himself.

“Hey, I brought dinner and a movie.” Stiles calls as he enters Derek’s apartment without knocking. Derek really cannot remember the last time that Stiles knocked before coming into his home. Derek brushes his thoughts away as he watches Stiles pull out take out cartons of Chinese food to put on Derek’s kitchen counters.

“What did you get?” Derek asks, leaning over Stiles. He hears Stiles’ heartbeat quicken, and Derek tries not read too much into it. Derek fights the urge to rest his chin on Stiles’ shoulder. Stiles has a pink blush on his cheeks, and Derek smiles softly at him before getting some plates.
