The next day
When I woke up, I was so happy and excited,
I went to my mom’s room, went to check if she didn’t go to work.
And I smiled and texted my girlfriend and said,“She went to work, we have the house to ourselves”
While in my mom’s room, I saw a medical letter on the side on her bed,
It was opened. I took it out to read it,
Only to find out that she has been diagnosed with cancer…My heart skipped a beat
How did this even happen? She knew for over a year now and said nothing?I continued to read the letter, and found the name of the cancer she was diagnosed with
Bronchial adenoma, the name of the cancer
And when I searched it,
I found that it’s one of the deadliest cancers,
With deaths of about 792 496 in the past years and I feared my mom will be counted soon…I put the letter back, and went to my room to lay down,
I wasn’t in the mood anymore, I wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone. After a while, I received a phone call from my girlfriend
I ignored it…Few minutes she sent an sms and it reads
“I’m close to your side babe come meet me halfway I don’t wanna be tired I won’t have enough energy to make you tired”
It didn’t even arouse me, I just got up and went to meet her.
Walking quietly with no headsets on
Passing people happy and smilingThe hurtful thing about life is that
When you in pain, someone else is happy
_f.pWhen I arrived to her I hugged her and greeted her with no smile,
The letter was stuck in my head, that I couldn’t even pretend to be happy.
Especially to my girlfriend she should know how I feel right now,
While walking she would try to have a conversation but I’d zone out and just say “yeah”I could see her face changing and her mood being killed bit by bit
But it wasn’t my intention, I was just trying to digest what I had found out
