A/N: Sorry for the wait! Did not proof read well because I wanted to get it out asap so please forgive some mistakes! Xx

Chad walks me to the door, apologizing again for ruining the night. I shake my head at him and let a small smile slip.

"It was a dumb idea," I agree.

He laughs as well, "Yeah. You nearly gave me a heart attack."

"What did Luke even say?"

"He walked up and started rambling about you and a car and race and I looked over at you by the car with Shane and put the puzzle pieces together."

I nod in understanding and stand awkwardly by the door. The lights flicker on and the door opens. My dad stands there, rubbing his eyes. He probably fell asleep on the couch watching the news. He looks between Chad and I and his eyes narrow in confusion.

"What are you two doing?"

"Talking," I tell him.

"Okay. I heard noise and wondered what it was. I'm off to bed. Night Chad."

"Night, Mr. Carlson."

I watch as he slowly makes his way up the steps. He stops midway and turns back around to look at us. Can't he just go to bed? I was enjoying Chad's company and was hoping to kiss him.

"Where's Eric?"

Chad quickly responds for me, "He's with Shelby. He should be home soon."

My dad doesn't question it and continues his way up the stairs. I wait to hear his bedroom door close before finally talking again. I'm taken by surprise when Chad's hands run through my hair and he smashes his lips against mine. Something that I won't ever get use to is the way his lips feel against mine. It feels like an electric current is running throughout my body when his lips meet mine. For a moment, I let myself feel the complete joy while his lips move in sync with mine. His tongue sweeps out and lightly traces my bottom lip, jolting me from my actions. He doesn't want this. He doesn't know how to do be in an actual relationship.

I pull back and take a step away from him. He looks puzzled and lets his hands fall down to his sides. He looks hurt and I feel bad. I want to kiss him. I really do but as the more our lips continue to touch I realize it isn't physical attraction anymore. I'm falling for him and I can't let that happen since there is no chance.

"I'm going to bed. Goodnight."

"Wait," he lightly grabs my wrist but I pull away. "Rowan, what's wrong?"

I shake my head at his words, "Nothing, Chad. Goodnight."

I close the door, trying my best to ignore the pain in my chest when the memory of his hurt expression plays through my mind.

.....

I'm woken by a loud banging on my door. I have no idea what time it is but what I do know is that it is too early for this shit. It's summer. I have the right to sleep in.

"Ro, get up!"

Eric. Fuck no.

I ignore his voice and put my pillow over my head in hopes to block out his annoying voice. When I don't hear anything I smile in relief. If only he could be this quiet all the time. It would make my life a lot easier. My pillow is taken form me and I finally open my eyes to find Eric standing there with an overly happy look on his face.

"I'm sleeping."

"Not anymore. Get up."

"Why?"
