Janae's POV

I walked into my parent's house since they hadn't seen Eva is a minute. I went upstairs and set her in between them, so they could fight over her. My mom won. Ever since Roman found out about his estranged daughter he took my human decency and tried to run with it. Now we were back to square one. Tristan has told me that he keeps asking why I'm not bring her and picking her up after that one time. I told him to make something up and knowing him it was something that hurt Roman's feelings. I couldn't care about that though. I had my own problems, like being pregnant again. I refused to tell anyone for as long as possible and I told Val that. He said it was up to me. He understood the reasoning behind it, but he did tell me he was going to tell his parents when he went home for the holidays. I had no problem with that they deserved to know that their son was having his first baby. "Janae, is there any hope for a Christmas miracle of you and Roman getting back together? I mean you guys are so cute together and really balance each other out." They didn't know the real reason.
"No mom, we grew apart and things changed. We tried we really did, but we're focused on being good co-parents."
"Does this mean we can't be friends with his family anymore?" My dad laughed.
"You can be friends. I don't care. We still are family. Just sometimes things happen. I have no hard feelings." I shrugged ignoring my subconscious calling me a lying bitch.
"Well we noticed Val coming around a lot more. I hope he had nothing to do with this separation." My mom smiled.
"No, he just helps out from time to time. I'm short mom, it helps to have someone tall step in when need be." I laughed.
"I like him he's nice and mannerable. His parents did well." My dad made faces at Eva.
"How have you been feeling daddy? Are you still doing okay?"
"Always worried about me, I'm fine sweetie. I have my beautiful wife, my amazing kids, a precious granddaughter, and my health. I'm perfect." He offered me a smile. "Now, how are we doing Christmas?"
"The same way we always do. Nothing should have to change. It's her first Christmas and I don't want to take that away from Roma and his family. I'm willing to deal is slight discomfort is that means making lasting memories for my daughter." I grinned at my father.
"Oh okay, grown up of you baby girl. I'm proud." He nodded.
"Hey, have you talked to Angie or Nick? Did they tell you anything?" I wondered.
"We did brunch on Sunday. Why what's going on?" My mom got up and went to the kitchen.
"Oh, I was just curious. I was going to bring Eva by their house later."
"They miss her, but with you and Roman going through this stuff they didn't want to bother you too much about bring her over." She came back hand me some water.
"Roman gets her for a few hours during the day. I don't know why he won't bring her over there." Angie had been texting me about Eva.
"He only gets her for a few hours that why. He doesn't want to share. I get it. As soon as you set her down I almost told you to get out." My dad teased me.
"Are you going to ever tell us what went wrong between the two of you? I know you used to tell me how much you hated being alone in the house." My mom was really taking it hard.
"Yeah, I did. We just grew apart mom. We were so young and so in love. Our differences became too hard to ignore. Sometimes love isn't enough and cloud nine rains down." I sighed.
"Well you can tell us whenever you're ready." My dad smiled.
    "I know dad." I yawned.

"Have you been sleeping ok?" My mom asked.
"I'm okay, that cutie is still doesn't like sleeping through the night. She is up at least twice to eat and change her butt. Roman would pick her up, rock her, hand her to me to feed, burp her, change her, and put her back to sleep. It's hard to do it alone." I admitted.
"Oh baby, go get some rest in your room. I see you have a bottle in the diaper bag. I want you to take a nap. You look tired honey. You don't have to do it alone." My mom looked worried. "I mean it go."
"Wake me up if she needs me." I said.
"We raised 4 kids. We know how to take care of a baby. Go get in bed." I was too exhausted to argue. I went down stairs to my old room and sunk into my bed. It felt nice and warm. My phone buzzed and I rolled over to see it Val had texted me.
