Janae's POV

It was just late, but it was the only time Val could talk. His parents were out, so we had his house to talk. We decided it might be good for us to hang out considering we're having kid together we should at least spend some time together. We were fine with just the two of up and even with his dad. Problems only arose in between when his mother was around, other than that he was good. I was sitting on his couch while he flipped through the channels. I yawned and he looked over and chuckled. "How have you been feeling?" He asked.

"I'm counting down until the day I won't be pregnant anymore. How about you?"

"I'm exhausted; my mom is never going to get off my back." He chuckled.

"Tell me about it!" I rolled my eyes.

"We have three month until she's here. The room right next to mine will be a nursery for when she's a little older unless you want to stay here after she's born."

"No, I'd rather be at home postpartum. You are welcome to come over anytime though. No offense, but I will not need your mom breathing down my neck. Anyway I'll still have Eva and Roman won't go for her being over here. I have to let him know that you will be over more and discuss that too." I sighed.

"Yeah, I think I'd rather be over there too. How are you and him?" He asked.

"Limbo still, he's trying, but every time I see him I keep thinking about him in bed with Mia. You know I've talked to Mia twice since then. For some reason I'm not mad at her anymore. It's interesting. He's a good dad though." I shrugged.

"Do you think I'll be a good dad?" He looked at my belly.

"I'll tell you the same thing I told him. I'm not giving you any option to fail." I smiled. "How are you and Alicia?"

"It seems different this time." He shrugged.

"Different good?" I asked.

"Different good." He laughed.

"Good, keep her. I don't have to vet who you'll have around our kid." I pushed his leg with my foot. "You guys look good together."

"Yeah, she's something else." He nodded and we heard the front door open.

"Welp, that's my cue. I'm going to head out. We'll go baby shopping tomorrow yeah?" I asked. He nodded as his parents walked into the living. I tried to leave, but his mom stepped in my path. I looked up at the ceiling and silently ask for strength to deal with this woman. "Is there something you'd like to say Ms. Carly?" I asked.

"Yes actually there is. Son, guess what I have planned for the weekend of the first." She grinned. "You will be so happy."

"Oh this is just meant for him? Well everyone have a good night." I started to leave.

"I'm planning your baby shower." She squealed. I stopped in my tracks and turned around. I looked at Val and he just put his head down. "I mean nobody seems to be doing it, so I took the liberty to." She looked at me as if to not only insult me, but everyone I surround myself with.

"Well because I didn't want one and Val didn't care one way or another. I'm having another girl. There's not much we need to get."

"A baby shower is a celebration of the baby." She shot back.

"So is the christening that we're planning for August." I crossed my arms.

"I also think you should have the baby back in our home. Then she could be christened in the same cathedral that I christened all my kids in." She smiled.
