EXO [Kai] - JUST YOU

Hana's POV

*Yawn..I am so sleepy.

"Kai oppa..should I go to sleep first?" I asked Kai, who was lying in bed staring at the ceiling blankly.

"Kai oppa?Gwaenchanha(r u ok)?"

He slowly turned to me and smiled. I got up from my seat and sat next to Kai. Admiring his damn handsome face, I began to play with his hair. Running my fingers through his hair..

Kai was slowly drifting off to sleep when suddenly, BANG! The room door slammed open and omma came stomping in while talking loudly about something.

"I will not hear anymore of this! I'm going home!" she shouted.

Still in a daze, I continued stroking Kai's hair while looking at omma. After omma entered, Kai's eomma followed behind shouting, "It is definitely the truth and I'm sorry! Ok?!"

I shook Kai awake and he sat up quickly, observing the situation. Omma was shaking in anger with her fists clenched tightly. Kai's eomma on the other hand was red in her ears.

"Omma, what happe-" before I could finish my question, she cut me off by pulling my arm, forcing me to leave with her.

"Fine! Don't come back here ever!" Kai's eomma shouted after omma.

Hold on! Ever? "Omma wait-" I held onto the door of the room unwilling to leave so sudden.  "Just WAIT!! Can't you hear me?!?" I yelled.

Omma stopped in her tracks.Both people from inside and outside of the room paused and stared. But I seriously don't care. I yanked my arm away from omma's tight grip and glared at her. Without hesitation, she stomped off with her heels clicking away.

I returned to the room which was now still. Sighing, I slouched into the chair next to Kai's bed. I bit my lip before asking politely to Kai's eomma.

   "Eomonim, what happened just now when you left with my Omma?"

She looked up to me, teary eyed. "(sigh)..We went to the hospital cafeteria to talk to each other about her being unhappy about you two..".

I nodded for her to proceed.

"Then..we came across a topic about your father, Min Minho. I knew your father as well because he was a close friend of mine and at that time he was already married to your omma. And also," she paused for a moment and breathed out slowly. "I was there at the accident scene where your father passed."

My heartbeat was increasing rapidly listening to her. I hope she is seriously telling the truth.Kai was holding onto my hand with both of his hands,tightly.

"It was your omma's birthday that day, but I didn't know. And you were still a small baby. So, I invited your father to have a small drink with me after a stressful day at work. Suprisingly, he accepted my invitation and he drank bottles of beer when we were meant to drink so little.He became drunk and crazy so I decided to take him home. But...at the traffic junction, Minho-ya..."

Kai's eomma's flashback

Minho(Hana's father): ♬Sae Rin-ah! Look at me~ I am a free man!~♩

Sae Rin(Kai's eomma): Ya Minho-ya! Dorawa juseyo(please come back)! It's dangerous!

Minho(Hana's father): Nothing is going to happe-

*HONKKK  *CRASH!

Sae Rin(Kai's eomma): MINHO-YA!!!

Flashback ends

   My eyes began to tear as she paused to take a breath,fanning herself to dry her tears. I didn't know if I should know about any of this. I grew up thinking my appa is at work everyday and not once have omma answered me whenever I ask when my appa is coming home. I guess I got used to it that I didn't think that I should care anymore.

  "Your father was a good person.I didn't think that he would be interested to drink with me that time.*(sigh)...It was a hit-and-run accident by a taxi. I panicked.I cried. But I knew it was no use. I felt so guilty and after calling the ambulance, reporting the accident to the police, I took a leave and stayed home for weeks."

   Kai's eomma apologised profusely to me while I cried in Kai's arms. Kai had pulled me into a warm embrace the moment I began to cry. In my 17 years, I only knew about this now. Omma has been keeping this from me for so long and I only found out from my appa's close friend. Kai cupped my face with his hands and dried my eyes with his thumbs.

  I gulped in air and took a deep breath. "Eomonim..please don't be too hard on yourself."I said between tears.

Kai's eomma introduced herself as "Kim Sae Rin" and told me to call her eomonim from then on. I got up and bowed to her. After a hug and our best regards to each other, she wished Kai a speedy recovery and left.

"Kai oppa..."

"Mm?"

"What should I do now that I know about my appa?"

"Don't tell your omma that you know. But, buy her lots of presents on her birthday. Just so that she doesn't feel upset."

I nodded and hugged Kai. Omma's birthday is next month. I wonder if my savings have enough money for omma's presents.

I rested my head against Kai's shoulder as I slowly drifted off to sleep. I didn't know if I was dreaming but while I was asleep, I felt warm lips being pressed against mine.It didn't last for a minute but I'm pretty sure those lips, were Kai's.
